I played in a Rush tourney on Full Tilt and it was not good.
The buyin was $4 + 40c and the tourney is pretty much the same as the ring "Rush" poker. The play was absolutely abominable as per the ring games. Players were stealing blinds by betting big and if you retaliated with a re-raise they generally folded. If you did manage to see a flop, the betting was ridiculous and so you had no chance of actually playing a hand unless you went all in.
I have to say that I definitely will NOT be playing one of these tournaments again. I went out at about 220th or somewhere around there. I have to say the game really hacked me off. It wasn't what I would class as a "proper" game of poker. I can't even remember what I went out on - I believe I had QQ and got beaten by a 92 or something like that.
I certainly do not recommend these tourneys.
On a lighter note - I played in a $1, 90 seater sitngo last night and I think I started it at about midnight and it finished at 5 a.m. I did manage to place 3rd and won $9.90 - not really a great return for all those hours playing poker but a good return for a $1 buyin.
It started off with the usual "all ins" and fishy plays but once the "not so good" players were gone, it was an excellent game. The play was tight and passive which really suited my style. I had a few great hands where I managed to double or even treble up - knocking 2 players out in one hand.
If you want to learn "tournament" play, I can highly recommend these 90 seaters as you will get some good players in them - you just have to fish out the bad players first. Patience is the key to playing poker but you need plenty of patience during tournament play and these games are a great starting point. They are good fun, there are good players (along with the bad of course) and if you make the final table, you can get a reasonable return for your buy in. I have to say that I use the term "reasonable" quite loosely here as 5 hours for a $9.90 return isn't particularly great. But you have to start somewhere and I think this is the place to start. I do want to play higher value tourneys and I need to be on top of my "tourney" game before I start higher buyins. I love tournaments and I have had some great wins in the past but it's amazing how quickly you get out of the tourney habits when you play sitngos. I'm looking forward to the bigger buyins.
I'll post a more detailed game next time but I've enjoyed just telling you guys how I feel.

Se riuscivi a vedere un flop, le puntate erano ridicole e quindi non avevi alcuna possibilità di giocare effettivamente una mano a meno che non andassi all-in.
Devo dire che sicuramente NON giocherò più a uno di questi tornei. Sono uscito verso la 220 o da qualche parte lì intorno. Devo dire che il gioco mi ha veramente colpito. Non era quello che definirei un gioco di poker "vero e proprio". Non riesco nemmeno a ricordare in cosa sono uscito: credo di aver avuto QQ e di essere stato battuto da un 92 o qualcosa del genere.
Certamente non consiglio questi tornei.
Passando ad una nota più leggera, ieri sera ho giocato a un sitngo da $ 1 e 90 posti e penso di averlo iniziato verso mezzanotte e di averlo finito alle 5 del mattino, sono riuscito a piazzarmi 3° e ho vinto $ 9,90 - non proprio un grande ritorno per tutte quelle ore giocare a poker ma un buon ritorno per un buyin di $ 1.
È iniziata con i soliti "all in" e giocate sospette, ma una volta che i giocatori "non così bravi" se ne sono andati, è stata una partita eccellente. Il gioco era serrato e passivo, il che si adattava davvero al mio stile. Ho avuto alcune mani fantastiche in cui sono riuscito a raddoppiare o addirittura triplicare, eliminando 2 giocatori in una mano.
Se vuoi imparare a giocare a "torneo", posso consigliare vivamente questi 90 posti perché troverai dei buoni giocatori: devi solo ripescare prima i giocatori scadenti. La pazienza è la chiave per giocare a poker, ma ne serve molta durante i tornei e questi giochi sono un ottimo punto di partenza. Sono molto divertenti, ci sono buoni giocatori (insieme ai cattivi ovviamente) e se raggiungi il tavolo finale, puoi ottenere un rendimento ragionevole per il tuo buy-in. Devo dire che uso il termine "ragionevole" in modo piuttosto approssimativo in questo caso 5 ore per un rendimento di $ 9,90 non sono particolarmente eccezionali. Ma da qualche parte bisogna iniziare e penso che questo sia il punto di partenza. Voglio giocare a tornei di valore più alto e devo essere al massimo del mio gioco da "torneo" prima di iniziare con buy-in più alti. Adoro i tornei e ho ottenuto delle grandi vittorie in passato, ma è incredibile quanto velocemente riesci a uscire dalle abitudini dei tornei quando giochi ai sitngo. Non vedo l'ora di fare acquisti più grandi.
La prossima volta pubblicherò un gioco più dettagliato, ma mi è piaciuto semplicemente dirvi come mi sento.

Logged into Full Tilt, where I have most of my money and I fancied playing a matrix tourney. Just a $1 buy in. I have to say that I played like a donkey. :o I don't know what was wrong with me but needless to say, I was knocked out of 3 of the 4 tables (quite unluckily in 2 cases I have to add). The last game I managed to win which raised me from bottom of the entire tourney to 4th. I won 78c for the win on the last table.
I then bought into a $2 + 25c sitngo. Just a 6 seater. I felt like a bit of a spectator because I had no decent hands at all. They were all rubbish. It wasn't too many hands though before someone was knocked out. Their 
not holding up against 
which hit a straight on the river.
The very next hand another player was out - all in with 
against the same player who hit their straight in the previous hand. He had 
and hit a pair of Jacks on the flop to win.
I'm unsure what was thinking as the flop was 
and at that point he reraised all in. I guess he thought he could bluff the other guy off the hand but sadly for him, it failed miserably.
I played an old favourite trick of mine (and I shouldn't really give some of my "tricks" away) but as Medtrans and Dirk are probably the only ones that actually read this blog (thank you Medtrans and Dirk), I don't think it will matter too much in my little world of poker. I was one away from BB and I allowed myself to time out and technically I was "sitting out". My BB arrives and I have 
- a very nice hand indeed. I guess that everyone had "noted" I had timed out and everyone flat called my BB assuming that they would be able to steal my blind. The flop came down 
. SB was first to act and by the time they had made their decision, I had already "pre" clicked "check". Needless to say the guy with the straight a few hands ago bet 150. Everyone folds and I raised him to 400 and he called.
The turn comes down 
. Joy - I have a full house. Now it's not too often that this "away play" pays off but on this occasion it did. The pot was a total of 1,000 so without further ado, I went all in for 975. The opponent folded and I showed the hand. I don't always show the hand but I will if it's a good one and I want a little respect from the other players.
Many hands on having hardly played anything at all, I am dealt 
and I'm SB. The dealer raises to 450 and I re-raised to 1550. I didnt want any limpers with rubbish calling. Everyone folds except the dealer who originally raised and the hands show. He has 
- nice hand too. I was slightly worried...until the flop came down.
, the turn is 
and the river . Lucky me.
Down to 3 players now and just one away from the money.
There wasn't too much going on for quite a few hands which gave me a great opportunity to study the play by the the other 2 players. There was one who only played premium hands and seemed to be quite a good player and then there was the guy that made the early straight who just seemed to think it was his god given right to steal our blinds. He came unstuck a few times from me with a re-raise and a call. After the flop, I would bet high and he folded. So I had correctly guessed his game.
There was one of those irritating hands that happens quite often with online poker. Two players have the same hand and one of them gets lucky and hits a flush. Well that happened to the "straight" guy - he got lucky with his to hit the flush even though he and the other player had the same starting hand.
This left the premium hand player quite short stacked and the first good hand he had, he was all in.
The "straight" guy called his raise and they showed their hands:

Flop came down 
At this point you just know that the 6 will arrive to give the worst hand the win. Needless to say he hit it on the river. The turn was 
and the river . The player that was knocked out was pretty fed up, as you can understand. He was unlucky with his identical hand and he lost this great hand to a donk call.
Two of us left and I know I have my work cut out with this player.
The game went on for quite a while and neither of us really played a hand. He kept trying to nick my blinds and I kept retaliating and nicking his. We were fairly even on the chip front. I had 4690 and my opponent (the straight guy) had 4310.
I'm dealt 
and I quite like the look of this hand at this particular moment in time. I'm BB and SB does his usual raise so I called.
The flop was very pretty and was 
. So not only do I have a flush draw (9 outs) I have a straight draw with another 3 outs. I was first to act so I bet the pot (1200) and my opponent re-raised all in. Without thinking, I just called him which left me with 380 chips.
He showed his hand 
The turn was and the river was . I had the bigger flush and won the game and took $7.80 for my troubles.
I enjoyed the game and I just knew I was going to whoop this guys butt. I get this "gut" feeling about some games and this was one of those games.

Ho effettuato l'accesso a Full Tilt , dove ho la maggior parte dei miei soldi e avevo voglia di giocare a un torneo a matrice. Solo un buy-in da 1$. Devo dire che ho giocato come un asino. :o Non so cosa c'era di sbagliato in me, ma inutile dirlo, sono stato eliminato da 3 dei 4 tavoli (sfortunatamente in 2 casi devo aggiungere). L'ultima partita che sono riuscito a vincere mi ha fatto salire dall'ultimo posto dell'intero torneo al 4° posto. Ho vinto 78c per la vittoria all'ultimo tavolo.
Ho quindi acquistato un sitngo da $ 2 + 25c. Solo 6 posti. Mi sentivo un po' uno spettatore perché non avevo affatto delle mani decenti. Erano tutti spazzatura. Non sono passate molte mani, però, prima che qualcuno venisse eliminato. Loro non resistere che ha centrato una scala al river.
Alla mano successiva un altro giocatore è uscito: è andato all in contro lo stesso giocatore che ha centrato la scala nella mano precedente. Lui aveva e ottieni una coppia di Jack al flop per vincere.
Non sono sicuro di cosa stava pensando come è stato il flop e a quel punto ha controrilanciato all-in. Immagino che pensasse di poter bluffare l'altro ragazzo ma, purtroppo per lui, ha fallito miseramente.
Ho giocato a uno dei miei vecchi trucchi preferiti (e non dovrei davvero svelare alcuni dei miei "trucchi") ma poiché Medtrans e Dirk sono probabilmente gli unici che leggono effettivamente questo blog (grazie Medtrans e Dirk), non lo faccio Non credo che avrà molta importanza nel mio piccolo mondo del poker. Non c'è stato molto da fare per alcune mani, il che mi ha dato una grande opportunità di studiare il gioco degli altri 2 giocatori. Ce n'era uno che giocava solo mani premium e sembrava essere un giocatore piuttosto bravo e poi c'era il ragazzo che aveva realizzato la scala iniziale e che sembrava pensare che fosse suo Dio il diritto di rubare i nostri bui. Si è sbloccato alcune volte con un controrilancio e un call. Dopo il flop, avrei puntato alto e lui ha foldato. Quindi avevo indovinato correttamente il suo gioco.
C'è stata una di quelle mani irritanti che capitano abbastanza spesso nel poker online. Due giocatori hanno la stessa mano e uno di loro è fortunato e realizza un colore. Beh, questo è successo al ragazzo "etero": ha avuto fortuna con il suo per chiudere il colore anche se lui e l'altro giocatore avevano la stessa mano iniziale.
Ciò ha lasciato il giocatore con la mano premium piuttosto short stack e la prima mano buona che ha avuto è stata all-in.
Il ragazzo "etero" ha chiamato il suo rilancio e loro hanno mostrato le loro mani:

Il flop è arrivato A questo punto sappi solo che arriverà il 6 per dare la vittoria alla mano peggiore. Inutile dire che l'ha centrato al river. La svolta è stata e il fiume . Il giocatore che è stato eliminato era piuttosto stufo, come puoi capire. È stato sfortunato con la sua mano identica e ha perso questa fantastica mano a causa di un donk call.
Due di noi se ne sono andati e so che ho il mio bel da fare con questo giocatore.

Whenever I think about poker, I always think about my favourite site that "was". Pacific Poker was pretty much the 2nd poker site I went to. I loved it there. The players were awesome, the games were amazing, even the colour of the chips were pretty fantastic. I always think about the game that started with 4000+ players and I ended up on the final table. It wasn't played to the end because the top 8 made it to the next round of a million dollar game. I really enjoyed that game and it will always be in my memory as my most favourite.
I used to sit and watch the high stakes games for hours on there - the players were really good and you were always guaranteed a great game on that site.
Then they changed the software. What a disaster that was. I lost all my points I had accumulated, any money I had on there was gone and the site pretty much went downhill in my eyes. It's still a great site but that was always my favourite "as it was before the update" and it was a sad day when they changed it.
Anyway, enough ramblings from me.

Se solo fossi un professionista, un commentatore e un analista.
Ogni volta che penso al poker, penso sempre al mio sito preferito che "era". Pacific Poker è stato praticamente il secondo sito di poker a cui sono andato. L'ho adorato lì. I giocatori erano fantastici, i giochi erano fantastici, anche il colore delle fiches era davvero fantastico. Penso sempre alla partita iniziata con più di 4000 giocatori e alla quale sono finito al tavolo finale. Non è stata giocata fino alla fine perché i primi 8 sono arrivati al round successivo di una partita da un milione di dollari. Mi è piaciuto molto quel gioco e sarà sempre nella mia memoria come il mio preferito.
Ero solito sedermi e guardare le partite high stakes per ore lì: i giocatori erano davvero bravi e ti veniva sempre garantito un grande gioco su quel sito.
Poi hanno cambiato il software. Che disastro è stato. Ho perso tutti i punti che avevo accumulato, tutti i soldi che avevo erano spariti e il sito è praticamente andato in discesa ai miei occhi. È ancora un sito fantastico ma è sempre stato il mio preferito "come era prima dell'aggiornamento" ed è stato un giorno triste quando lo hanno cambiato.
Comunque, basta divagazioni da parte mia.

anyhow, i read your 2 cents post on rng, and i too feel the same way, hence why i rarely play..
only full tilt, but not even because of the playerquality, but because i dont want to deposit for poker anymore, and they have lots of daily freerolls :P
but i do have a heart for poker, and thats why i love following your blog.
maybe soon there will be more platforms with this new rng, and then i will consider, however, ill play all the lcb tourneys on full tilt, and i still play monthly live tourneys ^^

Thank you for reading my 2 cents on RNG's. I don't think the poker sites realise how many palyers they lose because of it....or rather how many deposits they lose.
I'm wondering if realdeal will ever take off. They announced WSOP games now so I'm keeping a close eye on that site.
I still can't get a game on Truepoker and I did deposit on there - my money just sits there for now. I can understand why you don't deposit though - I have money on several sites and try not to deposit if I can help it (hence the cheap games).

Mi chiedo se il realdeal decollerà mai. Hanno annunciato i giochi WSOP adesso, quindi sto tenendo d'occhio quel sito.
Non riesco ancora a giocare su Truepoker e ho effettuato un deposito lì: per ora i miei soldi restano lì. Posso capire però perché non depositi: ho soldi su diversi siti e cerco di non depositare se posso evitarlo (da qui i giochi economici).

Today I'm having a game on 365Bonitas Poker.
It's a 10 seater 50c + 10c sitngo turbo. I should comment that the play on this site is pretty bad. However, it's not too different to other sites so here goes anyway.
As is the norm., two players were all in first hand. (I read somehwere that 9 out of 11 all ins (first person to go all in that is} will result in a win.) Thats a pretty amazing statistic. Sorry - I digress.
Two guys are all in first hand and they show their hands: versus . Before I even display the table cards, you know instantly what is going to happen here.
The flop was

I just knew that the 2 would come somewhere in that hand.
I'm doing my usual posting and folding but I did manage to hit a flush on the river where everyone was checking. I bet 60 (80 in the pot) and was raised to 300. Two callers and I won.
The players are dropping like flies and they are all going out with any ace with a rag. I struggle to understand why a player would go all in pre flop with Ace high with a 3 kicker. It really doesnt make sense to me at all. I guess they must have seen it on TV or something and the player got lucky wiht trips or something. Anyway, we are down to 6 players because of the all in Ace rag players.

Just had my blinds stolen too. I'm smallest stack too. I'm BB next and I really do need a great hand. I got and there are only two of us in the hand. SB calls so I just raise all in and take the blinds. It's a pretty good move if you are heads up with just the one person who flat called you.
Blinds are now 300/600 and I'm raising all in with . I get one caller and he shows his hand:
The flop is , turn is . The only cards that can save me are any spade (9 outs) or any ace (3 outs). Lucky for me the river was .
My new found joy was short lived as my stack was dwindling fast with the huge blinds. I couldn't get a hand at all after that and I ended up being all in with against . Needless to say I lost and was out in 4th place.
It was a reasonable game and whilst I didn't win anything, the play was slightly better than at the beginning.

Sto facendo il mio solito post e fold, ma sono riuscito a chiudere un colore al river dove tutti facevano check. Ho puntato 60 (80 nel piatto) e ho rilanciato a 300. Due call e ho vinto.
I giocatori cadono come mosche e escono tutti con un asso qualsiasi con uno straccio. Faccio fatica a capire perché un giocatore dovrebbe andare all in pre flop con Asso alto e 3 kicker. Non ha davvero senso per me. Immagino che lo abbiano visto in TV o qualcosa del genere e il giocatore sia stato fortunato con i viaggi o qualcosa del genere. Ad ogni modo, siamo scesi a 6 giocatori a causa dei giocatori all-in Ace.

Mi hanno appena rubato anche le persiane. Anch'io sono lo stack più piccolo. Il prossimo sono BB e ho davvero bisogno di una grande mano. ho ottenuto e siamo solo in due nella mano. SB chiama quindi rilancio all in e prendo i bui. È una buona mossa se sei heads-up solo con la persona che ti ha chiamato.

È stata una partita ragionevole e anche se non ho vinto nulla, il gioco è stato leggermente migliore rispetto all'inizio.

I took some time out to visit 365Bonitas Poker today.
For one thing, I wanted to try and find these tourneys that I have 2 x free $11 tickets for and secondly and more importantly, I wanted a game so I can post it in here.
I joined a $3 "double up" tourney. These games are great as the play is generally a better quality and half the entrants will double their investment. I decided that I would try and write up the game "as I went". Boy was that a bad idea. Unfortunately, the hand history at 365Bonitas doesn't update as the game goes along so you have to close the hand history window and load it up afresh. I was messing around trying to find the hand where the first person had gone out (as I missed it).
The hand history screen is not too hot but it does the job. I was clicking next, next, next.....trying to find the hand. Previous, previous, next, next, next....you get the picture. I was trolling through the hands trying to find where the first player had gone out. I clicked next......but the game screen popped up just as I went to click next and I accidentally clicked on the ALL IN button. :o

Ho deciso che avrei provato a scrivere il gioco "così come l'ho fatto". Cavolo, era una pessima idea. Sfortunatamente, la cronologia delle mani su 365Bonitas non si aggiorna man mano che il gioco procede, quindi devi chiudere la finestra della cronologia delle mani e caricarla di nuovo. Stavo cercando di trovare la mano in cui la prima persona era uscita (perché mi era sfuggita).

Having a quick dollar game on 365 Bonitas. (Writing this as it goes)
2nd hand in and Im dealt . I just flat called (Im SB). Flop is 
and everyone checks. The turn is . First to act bets 40 and with 3 over cards on the table, I have no choice but to fold. The river was . A nice straight won the hand.
Pocket 8s isnt a great hand but its definitely worth a call when the pot isnt raised. Had I hit the trips on the flop, I would certainly have been trying to steal that pot before the turn card came.
Im just posting and folding and amazingly, nobody went all in on the first hand. That has to be a first for a long time.
Whilst I was writing this someone just went out with against 
losing to a pair of jacks on the river (despite being in the lead on the flop) with a pair of 10s.
Ive just been dealt and the bet is 100 so I called. Lovely flop

BB calls and the flop comes down . My opponent goes all in for 880 so I called. He shows his hand . The turn is and I thought, here we go - Im going out now to a straight. Fortunatel the river was a and I won the hand and he was gone.
Another player just went out (whilst I was writing the above ) and we are down to 6 players.
And another one just bit the dust losing with King high to Ace high. We are now down to 4.
The blinds are crippling me and Im next out unless I get a hand. I just got and so I went all in. 2 callers. The flop is . The two other players do their betting. The turn is . So I need any 9 or any Q to make a straight. The river was so that is the end of me losing to . I came 4th and no payout for me :(
It wasn't such a long game as I expected because it was a turbo game. I must make a note to myself to not play turbos. They really don't suit my style of play.

Non è stata una partita così lunga come mi aspettavo perché era un gioco turbo. Devo prendere nota di non usare i turbo. Non si adattano davvero al mio stile di gioco.

I've been meaning to post this for a couple of days now and I finally have time to post it.
It's not a "blow by blow" account of the game but I was pretty pleased at the end of it. I joined in the free "poker million" freerolls that are running on Full Tilt.
It was a very slow game to start and everyone was playing pretty tight. I posted and folded quite a bit and tried to stick to pocket pairs and premium hands. With the premium hands I was raising and with the medium pockets, I was limping hoping to hit trips.
It worked a couple of times and I got lucky a couple of times too where there was no raise and I hit trips on the turn.
As the game went along and the blinds increased, the chip leaders starting bullying the smaller stacks to steal their chips. Normal play I guess but I did raise all in at one point when I was down to about 600 chips with . I was the BB and there were 3 callers. The flop came down 
. They all checked. The turn was and they all checked again. I felt sure it was all over for me. The river came and it was . Again, they all checked. My hand showed and they all mucked. So I quadrupled my stack in one hand.
Many hands went by and I managed to steal a few blinds. Things were slightly better but it was a difficult fight and the blinds were crippling at 2000/4000. All I needed was to be in the top 27 to win a ticket to the next round. There were 1005 players all from the UK.
It was hovering at 32 players for a very long time and at one point I dipped to 31st. I felt sure that I was going to lose. However, I was dealt and two hands running so my stack was up to about 30k which took me to 18th after I managed to get a couple of callers on one hand.
I posted and folded for quite a few hands and then it was down to 29. I knew I had sufficient a stack to get through a few rounds of blinds and hesitated a lot if I got a reasonable hand.
Finally, it was down to 27 and the game was over.
I have secured a ticket to the next round - I just hope my "luck" and patience continue.

Era da un paio di giorni che volevo postare questo post e finalmente ho tempo di farlo.
Non è un resoconto completo del gioco, ma alla fine sono rimasto piuttosto soddisfatto. Mi sono iscritto ai freeroll gratuiti "poker million" che si svolgono su Full Tilt .
L'inizio della partita è stato molto lento e tutti giocavano piuttosto serrati. Ho postato e passato parecchio cercando di restare con coppie in mano e mani premium. Con le mani premium che stavo rilanciando e con le tasche medie, limpavo sperando di ottenere un tris.
Ha funzionato un paio di volte e sono stato fortunato anche un paio di volte in cui non c'è stato alcun rilancio e ho trovato un tris al turn.
Man mano che il gioco procedeva e i bui aumentavano, i chip leader hanno iniziato a fare il prepotente con gli stack più piccoli per rubare le loro chips. Gioco normale, immagino, ma ad un certo punto ho rilanciato all-in quando ero sceso a circa 600 chips . Ero il BB e c'erano 3 chiamanti. Il flop è arrivato . Hanno controllato tutti. La svolta è stata e tutti hanno controllato di nuovo. Ero sicuro che fosse tutto finito per me. Il fiume arrivò e così fu . Ancora una volta, hanno controllato tutti. La mia mano è stata mostrata e tutti hanno fatto muck. Quindi ho quadruplicato il mio stack in una mano.
Sono passate molte mani e sono riuscito a rubare qualche buio. Le cose andavano leggermente meglio ma è stata una lotta difficile e i bui erano paralizzanti a 2000/4000. Tutto ciò di cui avevo bisogno era essere tra i primi 27 per vincere un biglietto per il turno successivo. C'erano 1005 giocatori, tutti provenienti dal Regno Unito.
È rimasto sospeso a 32 giocatori per molto tempo e ad un certo punto sono sceso al 31°. Ero sicuro che avrei perso. Tuttavia, mi è stato trattato E due mani consecutive quindi il mio stack è arrivato a circa 30k che mi ha portato al 18° posto dopo essere riuscito a ricevere un paio di call in una mano.
Ho postato e passato per un bel po' di mani e poi sono sceso a 29. Sapevo di avere uno stack sufficiente per superare alcuni giri di bui ed ho esitato molto se avessi ottenuto una mano ragionevole.
Alla fine siamo scesi a 27 e il gioco è finito.
Mi sono assicurato un biglietto per il turno successivo: spero solo che la mia "fortuna" e la mia pazienza continuino.

I'm worn out from playing Rush poker at Full Tilt.
I played in the 10k guaranteed earlier for a $1 buy in and with all the addons and rebuys the end result was a pot of over $15000. With just over 6000 entrants, I make that a total of $9000 in rebuys and addons after the tourney started. Thats around 18000 rebuys and addons.
I did manage to get a small payout after losing with pocket kings to pocket aces. I even hit trips on the flop and lost!
I also signed up to the 10c Rush tourney and I'm doing very nicely at the moment. It's the break at the moment and I'm grateful for it! It's a very intense game.
I did read big_deanus's Rush poker strategy and it has proved extremely useful. I've played as many hands as I can before the "add-on" break. I found the more hands that I played (or folded), the better the hands.
You do have to have balls of steel in this game as some of the play is decidedly dodgy. At one point, I decided to put the "sit out" on and this means that you stay at the table until the hand is over just to have a break from it.
The thing that I've noticed more than anything is bullying. You will be bullied from the outset and you have to stand your ground. Re-raise if you know you are ahead because they are always betting...no matter what they have. Make as many notes as you can on the players as you go along. It will definitely serve you well later on in the game.
I'm still in the game at the moment and it's the break again.
There have been 3551 rebuys and addons in total and the prize pool is $1775.50. Not bad for a 10c buy in.
I've had some great hands but the one that sticks out so far was when I had . I didn't raise as someone had already raised and I decided to just flat call and see what came on the flop.
The flop was . The other player was first to act and bet 800. I flat called. The turn was so I'm sitting very pretty with a full house. The opponent bets 800 again. This time I raised him to 1750. He called. The river was . He went all in and I called. He showed so my full house beat his flush. Very nice hand indeed.
Whilst I was in the middle of writing this, I just went all in with . The pot with all the 2k calls would have been about 12k on its own. I got one caller who showed . The flop came down and I knew in an instant that I was going out of the game. The turn and river were no use to me and I lost to trip 9s. I came 163rd out of 5000 and no payout!
I think the strategy that big_deanus wrote about is spot on and these 2 games tonight have been the best I've done. With the number of runners as well, it wasn't too bad a result. I still think I should have won with my pocket queens though with me having the better starting hand but then as they say "thats poker".

Ho letto la strategia Rush poker di big_deanus e si è rivelata estremamente utile. Ho giocato quante più mani possibile prima della pausa "add-on". Ho scoperto che più mani giocavo (o passavo), migliori erano le mani.
Devi avere palle d'acciaio in questo gioco poiché alcune parti del gioco sono decisamente complicate. Ad un certo punto, ho deciso di mettere il "sit out" e questo significa che rimani al tavolo fino alla fine della mano solo per prenderti una pausa.
La cosa che ho notato più di ogni altra cosa è il bullismo. Sarai vittima di bullismo fin dall'inizio e dovrai mantenere la tua posizione. Rilancia di nuovo se sai di essere in vantaggio perché puntano sempre... qualunque cosa abbiano. Prendi più appunti che puoi sui giocatori mentre procedi. Ti sarà sicuramente utile più avanti nel gioco.
Sono ancora in gioco in questo momento ed è di nuovo la pausa.
Ci sono stati 3551 rebuy e add-on in totale e il montepremi è di $1775,50. Non male per un buy-in di 10 centesimi.
Ho avuto delle mani fantastiche, ma quella che più mi ha colpito finora è stata quando le ho avute . Non ho rilanciato perché qualcuno aveva già rilanciato e ho deciso di fare semplicemente un flat call e vedere cosa sarebbe successo al flop.

Il flop è arrivato e ho capito in un istante che stavo per uscire dal gioco. Il turn e il river non mi sono serviti e ho perso con un tris di 9s. Sono arrivato 163esimo su 5000 e senza alcun pagamento!
Penso che la strategia di cui ha scritto big_deanus sia perfetta e queste due partite di stasera sono state le migliori che abbia mai fatto. Anche considerando il numero dei corridori il risultato non è stato poi così male. Continuo a pensare che avrei dovuto vincere con la mia coppia di Donne, anche se avevo la mano iniziale migliore, ma come si suol dire "questo è poker".

I fancied a "double or nothing" sitngo so I joined Poker Stars (USA OK) and found a 10 seater $1 +15c game.
I've never deposited on here so this is pure free money that I've won on a couple of freerolls.
Because I'm writing this as I go, I just missed somebody being knocked out on the first hand. This is the info in the chat.

I'm playing tight as usual - my hands are dire so I'm posting and folding.
I have and I was going to flat call but somebody raised before it got to me so I folded....as did everyone else.

I decided to have a quick game at Pokerstars. It is a 9 seater, $1 buyin Pot Limit Holdem.
Im posting and folding,...as usual. Two players were just knocked out to 2 pairs.
The guy that knocked the 2 people out just went all in on the next hand with a pair of 3s (his hand was ) against . He was beaten by a pair of 9s. Stupid move by a player who thinks he will get luck no matter what he plays. Ive never understood the mentality behind that thinking.
Im having my blinds stolen on a regular basis and Ive not hit a hand yet. Whilst I was writing this, another 2 players have been knocked out.
I have been dealt and Im big blind. I have been raised preflop so I re-raised. Just the one caller (the raiser). Flop comes down . He bets min and I raised all in. He shows his hand which is . The turn and river were no help to him so I doubled up.
We are down to 4 players.
I've been dealt again. I raised and was re-raised. Flop comes down and its . I bet and was re-raised again, this time all in, so I called. My opponent shows . The turn was and the river was . I really thought I was a gonner then but luck was on my side.
Whilst I was writing this another 2 players are out and its just two of us left. I'm amazed how quickly these players have been knocked out.
Im getting hammered with raises on my big blinds and huge raises when I call a hand. I really think that Im going to lose this game but Im not giving up without a fight.
As I've written this as the game has gone along, I have struggled to keep up with this write up. The last part is from memory as it was quite a fast paced game.
I keep getting unlucky on the river card. He raises each hand and if my hand isnt too bad, I call him. I managed to steal a couple of pots with some well timed bluffs. My stack is gradually getting bigger and his is getting smaller.
I have finally taken the lead and I'm dealt
and I'm big blind. He raises min raise so I called. The flop comes down . He bet so I raised, he raised me, I raised him, he raised me and this went on until we were both all in (I have a few chips returned to me). He shows his hand . The turn is so I have my flush and beat his pair. The final card was no help to either of us and so I win the game and $4.50. I just knew I would get my flush and I'm glad I went with my gut on that hand.
I never thought I was going to win this game as I was underdog at the point it was just me and the final opponent as he had double my stack after the last person was knocked out. The saying "a chip and a chair" is a good one to remember no matter how small your stack.
It was a good game and I enjoyed it - even though they all seemed to be just stealing blinds all the time.

Mossa stupida da parte di un giocatore che pensa che avrà fortuna qualunque cosa giochi. Non ho mai capito la mentalità dietro quel pensiero.

Mi è stato trattato e io sono il big blind. Ho ricevuto un rilancio preflop quindi ho controrilanciato. Solo l'unico caller (il raiser). Il flop scende . Lui punta minimo e io rilancio all-in. Mostra la sua mano che è . Il turn e il river non gli sono stati d'aiuto quindi ho raddoppiato.

Mentre stavo scrivendo questo, altri 2 giocatori sono usciti e siamo rimasti solo in due. Sono stupito di quanto velocemente questi giocatori siano stati eliminati.
Sono martellato dai rilanci sui miei big blind e dai rilanci enormi quando chiamo una mano. Penso davvero che perderò questa partita, ma non mi arrenderò senza combattere.
Mentre scrivevo questo mentre il gioco andava avanti, ho faticato a tenere il passo con questo articolo. L'ultima parte è a memoria poiché era un gioco piuttosto veloce.
Continuo ad essere sfortunato al river. Lui rilancia ogni mano e se la mia mano non è poi così male, lo chiamo. Sono riuscito a rubare un paio di piatti con alcuni bluff tempestivi. Il mio stack sta gradualmente diventando più grande e il suo si sta riducendo.
Alla fine ho preso il comando e ho finito
e sono al big blind. Lui rilancia il rilancio minimo così ho chiamato. Arriva il flop . Ha puntato quindi ho rilanciato, lui ha rilanciato me, io ho rilanciato lui, lui mi ha rilanciato e così è andato avanti finché non siamo andati all in entrambi (mi sono state restituite alcune chips). Mostra la sua mano . Il turno è quindi ho il mio colore e batto la sua coppia. L'ultima carta non è stata d'aiuto a nessuno dei due e quindi ho vinto la partita e $ 4,50. Sapevo solo che avrei ottenuto il colore e sono felice di aver scelto quella mano con il mio istinto.
Non avrei mai pensato che avrei vinto questa partita dato che ero sfavorito al punto in cui eravamo solo io e l'ultimo avversario dato che aveva raddoppiato il mio stack dopo che l'ultima persona era stata eliminata. Il detto "una fiche e una sedia" è utile da ricordare, non importa quanto piccolo sia il tuo stack.
È stata una bella partita e mi sono divertito, anche se sembrava che tutti rubassero i bui in continuazione.

As its PKR's 4th birthday, I decided to have a game on there. I've gone for a 0.50c + 10c, 10 seater sitngo.
Game starts off slow (which is unusual as someone is always all-in first hand). There is one player driving me up the wall using all the emotes that she can - thank goodness for the mute button! I'm still finding my way around the new set up but I have to say that it is very user friendly.
Anyway, back to the game! A few hands in and two players are all in. They show their hands pre-flop and one of them has and the other one has . The flop comes down , turn is the and the river is giving a straight to the pocket 7s and cracking the aces big time. I definitely would not go all in with pocket 7s that early in the game - very poor play in my opinion.

Well I was just dealt . First to act raises min raise, 2 callers and then I raise to $750. One caller.
The flop comes down and is . I could be in trouble here with a flop like that. So I take my chances and go all in. My opponent calls and shows . Thank goodness he didnt have diamonds in his hand. The turn is

Whilst writing this up, more players are out and we are down to 4.
I'm BB and I was just dealt the worst hand in the stack . One caller and small blind calls too. The flop turn river was , , . So I hit a pair of twos on the river and the entire hand was checking all the way. Small blind bets $150 so I called and the other player folded. My opponent has nothing so I win the hand. I guess you're wondering why I called. The check, check, check all the way through and the min bet at the end told me the player didn't have anything much and was going for the "steal". I'm not always right but sometimes I am and this was one of those occasions. In any event, in my experience, it's always worth calling a min bet on the river (if you have a small pair or Ace high) when all that has gone before is checking.
We are down to 3 players and the really annoying person is still in (wearing nothing but a bikini I might add :o)

I'm the underdog here with only 3k in chips. I fought a good battle but lost it to two pairs on the final hand.
It was a good game however the quality of some play was very poor. I won $1.50 which is great and gives me a bit extra to play with.

Dato che è il 4° compleanno di PKR , ho deciso di organizzare un gioco lì. Ho scelto un sitngo da 0,50 c + 10 c, da 10 posti.
Il gioco inizia lentamente (il che è insolito dato che qualcuno va sempre all-in in prima persona). C'è un giocatore che mi sta spingendo contro il muro usando tutte le emote che può - meno male per il pulsante muto! Sto ancora cercando di orientarmi nella nuova configurazione, ma devo dire che è molto facile da usare.
Comunque, torniamo al gioco! Alcune mani e due giocatori vanno all in. Mostrano le loro mani pre-flop e uno di loro le ha e l'altro lo ha fatto . Arriva il flop , il turno è il e il fiume è dando una scala alla coppia di 7 e rompendo gli assi alla grande. Sicuramente non andrei all-in con una coppia di 7 così presto nel gioco: secondo me è una giocata pessima.

Sono BB e mi è stata appena distribuita la mano peggiore dello stack . Un caller e anche lo small blind chiamano. Il turn del flop è stato il river , , . Quindi ho preso una coppia di due al river e l'intera mano ha fatto check fino in fondo. Lo small blind punta $150 così ho chiamato e l'altro giocatore ha foldato. Il mio avversario non ha nulla quindi vinco la mano. Immagino che ti starai chiedendo perché ho chiamato. Il check, il check, il check fino in fondo e la puntata minima alla fine mi hanno detto che il giocatore non aveva molto e stava cercando di "rubare". Non ho sempre ragione, ma a volte lo sono e questa è stata una di quelle occasioni. In ogni caso, secondo la mia esperienza, vale sempre la pena chiamare una puntata minima al river (se hai una coppia piccola o un asso alto) quando tutto ciò che è successo prima è stato check.
Siamo scesi a 3 giocatori e la persona davvero fastidiosa è ancora presente (indossa solo un bikini, potrei aggiungere :o)

È stata una bella partita, tuttavia la qualità di alcune giocate era molto scarsa. Ho vinto $ 1,50, il che è fantastico e mi dà un po' di extra con cui giocare.

This game is a matrix game on Full Tilt. $1 buy in, 300 chips, 4 tables, 6 players.
I'm not going to write it as I go as this would be impossible but I will give you the basics of what happened once I'm done. If you've never played these matrix games before, they are definitely worth a look. You have 4 chances to win prizes plus there is an overall leaderboard payout too. It's quite fast and I recommend tiling the tables so you can see them all at the same time.
In the time it took me to write the above paragraph 6 people are knocked out (adding up the lost players from the 4 tables).
I've just been dealt at one table so I raised 3 x BB (remember we only have 300 chips) and I get one caller. The flop is . As I'm pot committed I have no alternative but to go all in and hope the other player doesnt have an ace. Unfortunately he did. He showed his hand (crap hand really) and the turn is and the river is 5 . So I was out and came last at that table which is not good for the overall positions as you get 1 point for every person that you stay on a table longer than. i.e. if someone is knocked out, you get 1 point.
A few hands in on another table and I'm dealt . I just went all in and got one caller. It was one of those times you say to yourself "typical". My opponent showed . The cards that fall on the table were , turn is and the river is . I was out in 5th on that table so Im not doing very well at all.
On the third table, my chips are dwindling fast as I can't get a hand. I'm down to 100 chips and I'm the BB at 50 so I have no choice but to go all in with my . I'm up against Ace rag so I have no hope at all. The cards don't help me and I'm out in 3rd.
So the last table that I'm still playing on and there are 3 of us left. I did win a couple of hands, one with a bluff (I don't talk about my bluffs as I don't want to give too much away). The 3rd player is knocked out and we are down to 2 players. At one point I did manage to take the lead with the chips (1,035) but that was short lived. My opponent kept trying it on by just betting 2 x the min after the flop so I called a couple of times and won each time. My lead was short lived though and ours was the last table to finish. Again, no hands and my chips are dwindling. I did win a few hands but the other player was getting the better hands. He kept raising my BB and I decided to give it a go with . The flop came down and my opponent went all in. I decided that I had a good chance of hitting my flush so I went for it. Unfortunately it wasn't to be! The opponent had . The turn was and the river was . So I came second and won 42c. Not a great return for my buck buy in but better than nothing.
It was a really fast game but I do enjoy these matrix games. I would suggest that non speed, non short stack buy ins to start with until you get the feel of them. Watch for players sitting out who just want to earn points by "staying in" and there will be a lot of all ins at the early stages of the game.

Non lo scriverò man mano che procedo perché sarebbe impossibile, ma ti darò le nozioni di base di quello che è successo una volta che avrò finito. Se non hai mai giocato a questi giochi a matrice prima, vale sicuramente la pena darci un'occhiata. Hai 4 possibilità di vincere premi e in più c'è anche un pagamento per la classifica generale. È abbastanza veloce e consiglio di affiancare i tavoli in modo da poterli vedere tutti contemporaneamente.
Nel tempo che ho impiegato a scrivere il paragrafo 6 le persone vengono eliminate (sommando i giocatori persi dai 4 tavoli).
Mi hanno appena trattato ad un tavolo ho rilanciato 3 x BB (ricordate che abbiamo solo 300 chips) e ho ricevuto un call. Il flop è . Dato che sono impegnato nel piatto, non ho altra alternativa che andare all in e sperare che l'altro giocatore non abbia un asso. Sfortunatamente lo ha fatto. Ha mostrato la sua mano (mano schifosa davvero) e il turn è e il river è 5 . Quindi sono uscito e sono arrivato ultimo a quel tavolo, il che non va bene per le posizioni complessive poiché ottieni 1 punto per ogni persona che rimani su un tavolo più a lungo. cioè se qualcuno viene eliminato, ottieni 1 punto.
Qualche mano su un altro tavolo e mi viene servito . Sono andato all in e ho ricevuto una chiamata. Era una di quelle volte in cui ti dici "tipico". Il mio avversario ha mostrato . Le carte che cadono sul tavolo erano , il turno è e il fiume è . Ero quinto in quel tavolo, quindi non sto andando molto bene.
Al terzo tavolo, le mie chips stanno diminuendo velocemente perché non riesco a ottenere una mano. Sono sceso a 100 chips e sono il BB a 50 quindi non ho altra scelta che andare all in con il mio . Sono contro Ace Rag quindi non ho alcuna speranza. Le carte non mi aiutano e sono fuori al 3° posto.
Quindi l'ultimo tavolo su cui sto ancora giocando e siamo rimasti in 3. Ho vinto un paio di mani, una con un bluff (non parlo dei miei bluff perché non voglio rivelare troppo). Il 3° giocatore viene eliminato e siamo rimasti a 2 giocatori. Ad un certo punto sono riuscito a prendere il comando con le chips (1,035) ma è stata una cosa di breve durata. Il mio avversario ha continuato a provarci puntando solo 2 volte il minuto dopo il flop, quindi ho chiamato un paio di volte e ho vinto ogni volta. Il mio vantaggio però è stato di breve durata e il nostro è stato l'ultimo tavolo a finire. Ancora una volta, nessuna mano e le mie chips stanno diminuendo. Ho vinto alcune mani ma l'altro giocatore aveva le mani migliori. Continuava a rilanciare il mio BB e ho deciso di provarci . Il flop è arrivato e il mio avversario è andato all in. Ho deciso che avevo buone possibilità di realizzare il colore, quindi ho provato. Purtroppo non è stato così! L'avversario aveva . La svolta è stata e il fiume era . Quindi sono arrivato secondo e ho vinto 42c. Non è stato un grande ritorno per il prezzo d'acquisto, ma meglio di niente.
È stato un gioco davvero veloce ma mi piacciono questi giochi a matrice. Suggerirei di iniziare con buy-in non veloci e non short stack finché non ne avrai la sensazione. Fai attenzione ai giocatori seduti che vogliono solo guadagnare punti "rimanendo" e ci saranno molti all-in nelle prime fasi del gioco.

It's been far too long since my last game - so I've taken a little bit of time out to have a game. I'm at Full Tilt $5 + 0.50c 6 seater.
First hand and Im dealt rubbish and the player to my left goes all in - everyone else folds.
2nd hand. I folded but the player to my left raises to 150 this time. BB calls and everyone else folds. The flop is . BB checks and the original raiser bets 345 (the pot). BB calls. The turn is . BB checks again and original raiser bets 30. Now bearing in mind the pot is 1,065 and the original raiser has limped in with a 30 bet, it looks as though he may have Ace rag and is only now worrying about the pair of 5s on the board. BB raises to 210. Despite my comment above about the player worrying about the 5s on the table, he goes all in and BB immediately calls.
The cards show and the original raiser has and BB has . The river is which is no help to either of them. The original raiser is left with 210 chips (the amount he won on the first hand).
I think because of the first hand "all in" from the player on my left and then his subsequent pre-flop raise, the BB thought the raiser was a bluffer and called the raise. Had the raiser not "all in'd" on the first hand, the BB would likely have folded with the raise on the 2nd hand. Previous play directly affects "respect" at the table and BB clearly had none for the raiser (well those are my thoughts - feel free to comment on this).
Ok - I digress. A few hands on (I'm BB) and I have rubbish so I'm going to be folding - the player to my left goes all in with his remaining 180 chips and there are 2 callers.
The flop is . 1st to act checks as does the other player. The turn is . Checking all round again. River is and another round of checks.
All the hands show and the player that is all in shows , 1st to act in the betting shows and the other player shows . The all in player shares the pot with the first to act player.
The player to my left is finally knocked out a few hands on, losing to an Ace high.
I've only played a couple of hands so far - nothing to speak of. Two players are now all in pre flop. The first player shows his hand and has and the opponent shows . The flop is , turn is and river is and we are down to 4.
The very next hand and two players are all in again - they sure are in a hurry to lose their chips. They show their hands preflop and one has and the other has . The flop is , turn is and the river is . So another player is down and out - 3 of us left.
A few more hands and another player is knocked out beaten by a pair of kings to ace high and then there were 2. So I'm at least in the money but my chip stack is pretty low.
I won a couple of hands but only by bluffing and stealing. The endless hands of absolute rubbish are really making it a bit of a boring game at this point. I'm dealt and decided I have to make a move and I go all in. Opponent calls and shows . The table cards are 
so I got lucky with my aces.
Many hands go by and it's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other - taking it in turns to steal blinds, bluff etc.
I'm BB and I'm dealt and my BB was min raised so I called just to see the flop which was . We both check. The turn is so I bet 600 and was raised all in - I called. Opponent shows and the river is and I\'m out to a King kicker.
I think I was quite unlucky that he was holding a 10 as well in that last hand. It was a quickish game but coming in second and doubling my money was a fair result.

Penso che a causa della prima mano "all in" del giocatore alla mia sinistra e del suo successivo rilancio pre-flop, il BB ha pensato che il rilancio fosse un bluffatore e ha chiamato il rilancio. Se il rilancio non fosse andato all in nella prima mano, il BB probabilmente avrebbe passato con il rilancio nella seconda mano. Le giocate precedenti influenzano direttamente il "rispetto" al tavolo e BB chiaramente non ne aveva per il rilancio (beh, questo è il mio pensiero - sentitevi liberi di commentare questo).

Ho vinto un paio di mani ma solo bluffando e rubando. Le mani infinite di spazzatura assoluta stanno davvero rendendo il gioco un po' noioso a questo punto. Mi sono occupato e decido che devo fare una mossa e vado all in. L'avversario chiama e mostra . Le carte del tavolo sono quindi sono stato fortunato con i miei assi.

I've just logged into PokerStars and although I've never deposited on there, I have some bits of cash all over the place. I've got just under $5 in US, €1.10 in Euros and £1.46 in GBP. I'm not sure how come I've got all these currencies but anyway, I decided to play a 25c tournament. There are 90 players and the top prize is $6.23 plus there are 7 places paid in all.
This is a great way to learn tournament play if you are a new player and it's very cheap so, if you do lose, it doesn't cost you the earth.
I'm writing this as it happens.
I'm just playing premium hands to start with and as I haven't had a decent hand yet, I'm just posting and folding.
I was just dealt and I'm BB - pot was raised pre-flop to 120 so I folded. Sods law the flop was . Don't you just hate it when that happens. The turn was never dealt after one player bet all in after this flop.
I've still not played a hand and we are down to 78 players and I'm currently 50th. I'm not too worried yet as the blinds are still $15/$30.
Still haven't played a hand and its on a [synchronized] break so I'm going to make me a tea! ;)

Questo è un ottimo modo per imparare a giocare nei tornei se sei un nuovo giocatore ed è molto economico, quindi, se perdi, non ti costerà un patrimonio.

I'm registered for a 50c + 10c Fast Fifty tourney at 365Bonitas Poker.
I know the players on here are very fishy, so I'm putting my fishy hat on too. First hand and 2 players are out with some pretty bad calls.
Next hand are my cards and Im calling for 10c. The flop is and everyone checks. Turn is and the river is . Checking all the way and my hand was pipped by
Another player was just knocked out after he went all in with against . The kicker counted as they both had a pair of Aces after the flop.
Another player was just knocked out with a substandard hand. One player (chip leader) went all in and another player called. The hands showed and the chip leader shows and the caller shows . The flop turn and river are so another player bites the dust.
We are now down to 5 players and so far this game has been more like a game of bingo than a game of poker. I hope it will improve now.
Another player is out who was just posting and folding all the way through. That's something that I will never understand. Why pay good money for a game and then sit out all the way through? It makes no sense to me.
Another player is out losing to a straight and we are now down to 3 players.
My chips are dwindling and the blinds are 600/300. I'm SB and I've been dealt . I can fold but it only leaves me 735 so I decided to go all in and BB calls. He has so if I don\'t hit, Im beat anyway.

This was an awful game which I didn't enjoy at all despite me doubling my stake. The good thing about this site is that they do have regular freerolls, they have free sitngo's where you can win $1 real money and there is always a game available.

Un altro giocatore è uscito e stava semplicemente postando e foldando fino in fondo. E' una cosa che non capirò mai. Perché pagare un bel po' di soldi per un gioco e poi restare fuori fino in fondo? Non ha senso per me.

Just my lowly opinion....but I think the lower the stakes the more you see this. I saw it so much when I played poker online that I quit playing. You wouldn't see this in high stakes games or tournaments.

I read your blog on suited-connectors, I am one of the few players who really hates getting AA. I have had them cracked so many times by 5-6, 4-3,8-9, suited, that I usually go all-in , just to save myself the heartache.

I've just had a game on Full Tilt.
It was a pretty tough game and there were some "good" players. I put that in inverted commas because they were playing poker by the book. Using position to raise, bullying the smaller stacks and so on, so it made it an interesting game.
I should add that I played a few matrix games where you start with 300 chips and I've never been so unlucky at these tables. Every time I had a hand, I was rivered. For example I had trip queens and was rivered by a fishy flush. Another hand I had top 2 pair which is a pretty good hand and was beaten by someone holding bottom pair who hit trips on the river. What can you do when your "luck" is out.
Anyway, onto this game which was a simple $1, 9-seater, non-turbo NL sitngo. 134 hands from start to finish so I won't be covering every hand, just the best bits.
13 hands in, after much blind stealing by the other players, I'm dealt . Blinds are 20/40 and I'm UTG. I raised to 200 and everyone folded.
Two hands down the line, I'm SB. One player raises to 120 and there are 3 callers. I folded my .
The flop comes down . I would have had a straight if I'd called. The betting resumes and the original raiser bets 360 and there is one caller. The turn is and the original raiser puts the opponent all in who swiftly calls. The original raiser has and unbelievably, the caller has . He did have a flush and straight draw giving him 12 outs but it's a longshot. The river is and one player is out.
I'm BB after lots of folding by me and I've got . I'm raised to 125, everyone else folds and I call. This player is the one who just knocked out the player in the hand above.
The flop is and I bet the pot which is 275. The original raiser goes all in which means I will be all in if I call. The worst he can have for me is the Ace with a Jack or Ace with a King so I decide to call. His hand is revealed and he has . No other cards assist us and we share the pot.
A few hands in another player is out losing to a slow played pocket .
Many hands on and I lose half my stack chasing a straight which never arrived. I could kick myself when I do that - I know I shouldn't do it but I still do. I have to give myself a bit of a telling off at this point for trying to get a hand when my cards are rubbish. So I'm now short stack and in for a bit of bullying.
We are now 44 hands into the game and I'm dealt and I'm Big Blind so this should be interesting. Everyone folds right up to the dealer who promptly goes all in. He is in a perfect position to raise me and has taken a chance that I don't have a hand worthy of an all in bet. So I call him. His cards are revealed and he has . The flop is , the turn is and the river is . I doubled up and I'm back in the game.
A few hands on and I'm dealt - very pretty. I'm 2 places behind the dealer and I just flat call. Everyone folds up to SB who raises min raise to 160. I flat call and BB folds. The flop is . Opponent bets 80 I raise to 640 (pot plus his bet) and he raises me to 1200. So I don't hesitate to re-raise all in. He shows his hand which is so he's chasing the straight. The turn is and the river is so I've again doubled up.

The very next hand and I'm SB and the raiser in the first hand is up to his tricks again. He is UTG and raises to 300 (blinds are 60/120). One player calls, I fold and the BB re-raises all in for 741. The original raiser also re-raises all in for 2,622 and the other player calls (all in).

These two players love to steal my blinds and I'm letting them now and then until I hit a nice hand.
I'm BB and I've been dealt . The original raiser goes all in and SB folds. I've seen this guys Ace rags so I decide to call. He shows which isn't a bad hand.

Just 2 of us left and the other player tries to steal my blinds every hand - I do retaliate with a few large raises and he immediately folds.
I'm SB and I'm dealt . I flat called and he does his usual min raise so I called. The flop comes down . He checks and I bet min bet. He raises to 960 so I called, figuring that I was ahead. is the turn so I went all in and he called. He shows . So I'm ahead with 2 pairs and he needs a 10 on the river to beat me. The river is . I'm gutted and I'm out in 2nd place.
I was gutted over that last hand as I was well in the lead before the river. Such is life. I did win a prize so I should be happy.

È stata una partita piuttosto dura e c'erano alcuni giocatori "buoni". L'ho messo tra virgolette perché giocavano a poker secondo le regole. Usare la posizione per rilanciare, fare il prepotente con gli stack più piccoli e così via, lo ha reso un gioco interessante.
Dovrei aggiungere che ho giocato ad alcuni giochi a matrice in cui inizi con 300 fiches e non sono mai stato così sfortunato a questi tavoli. Ogni volta che avevo una mano ero al river. Per esempio ho avuto un trip queen e sono finito al river con un colore sospetto. In un'altra mano avevo una top 2 coppia che è una mano abbastanza buona e che è stata battuta da qualcuno che aveva una coppia bassa che ha centrato un tris al river. Cosa puoi fare quando la tua "fortuna" è finita.

25c 45 seater sitngo tournament on Poker Stars
I'm not going to give a blow by blow account because it would take forever but I will mention some highlights. This game ran for 2 hours 27 minutes and to say I was ready for my bed at the end of it was an understatement. It finished at 2.31 am and of course I wanted to write it up so here goes.
I managed to double up my chips quite early when I had and managed to hit trips on the flop so I was off to a flying start and in the top 10 straight away.
There was the usual run of bad play that you generally find at the beginning of the tournament - I even put a note on one of the players who called an all in bet of 795 with and of course, he lost that hand. Little did I realise the significance of that note later on in the game.
I did my usual posting and folding but I have to say, I had a good feeling about this game. I guess I was in the right frame of mind. Anyway back to the game.
I had pocket on one hand where I was the dealer and decided not to raise. SB called and BB checked. The flop came down and the BB just threw all his chips in the pot so I called. SB folded. He revealed his hand which was . Fortunately my 7s held and he was out and I won the pot. I know it was a risky call - he could have had a straight.
I folded a lot of hands, played a few hands and won a few hands. I was still in the top 10; in fact I was 6th.
Im BB and Im dealt - blinds are $100/$200 and the player UTG goes all in for $1553 pre-flop. I decided to call. He showed his hand .

Quite a few hands on and the tables are rebalanced and I didn't realise it at the time but it was the final table. We were down to 10 players and who should appear but the guy who I put the note on earlier. He was chip leader and I was sixth.
I watched his play for a while - he liked to steal a lot of blinds and more often than not, raised with pure rubbish.
Blinds are $200/$400 and I'm BB. The guy with the note on him is two seats back from me so he is the dealer. I'm dealt and UTG calls as does the noted player. The flop comes down . Everyone checks. Noted player bets 400 when comes on the turn. I called and UTG folds. The river is and the noted player bets 400 again. I flat called. He shows his cards which are and I win the hand. Im so glad I put my note on this player as I would definitely have folded in normal circumstances.
Three players go out and we are down to 7 of us. All places are now paying places so Im expecting to see play loosen up a little now.
During the past good few hands, the noted player is nicking a heck of a lot of the blinds and I don't "believe" his bets at all which can be quite dangerous as it means I will likely be calling his raises where I would normally fold.
Here is a classic example of a hand that could have gone so horribly wrong.
Im dealt and Im BB and noted player is dealer. Blinds are 400/800 so Im not about to let my blinds go without a bit of a fight. Everyone folds up to noted player and he raises to 3,600. For the kind of hands I had seen him play I thought it was worth a call. The flop came down . He checked and I checked. I actually wondered if my 6s put me ahead. Anyway the river came down . I bet 2,400 and he raised me to 4,800. So I re-raised him to 7,200 at which point he promptly threw all 38k of his chips in the middle and I immediately called. His hand showed which was .
So he had a great hand pre-flop and due to his dire play in umpteen previous hands, meant that I called where normally I would have folded. Theres a lot of food for thought here. On one hand, the guy is the chip leader because he knows how to steal blinds and raise other players off of hands but then looking at the other side of the coin, because of his play, hands that would normally be folded were called which cost him very dearly...as in this case.
The final card comes down which is the which is no help to either of us and I win a very healthy pot of 23k.
We are down to 5 players and this guy really wants to share his wealth with the other players at the table by making ridiculous calls and bets. I have to add that players like this make the game really interesting and a bit of a battle which I truly enjoy.
I wont go into detail about all the hands so much here because this game just went on and on and on. The remaining players seem to be catching on about this guys play and are re-raising his raises, calling his raises and so on. This noted player finally folds a few hands.
Now down to 3 players and the other player bets all in for 10k with and the noted player calls him with . The cards on the table are , turn is and the river is so the noted player gets lucky and we are now down to 2 players. Me and the noted player.
The chips are going back and forth between us and we seem to be taking turns in being the chip leader.
At one point I had him down to 4k and this guy just got lucky hand after hand after hand. Here are some of the hands he won with:

On one hand I had and I went all in hoping just to steal the blinds but he called. He showed but I hit an ace on the turn and managed to double up.
I was now the chip leader and I'm dealt . The blinds are 1k/2k and I raised to 10k pre flop. He bet all in for 22k and I called straight away. He revealed his cards which were . The flop came down , the turn was and the river was . I had won the game, $3.52 for my 25c stake and beat 44 other players.
But I have to say, best of all I beat that guy who called an all in with right at the beginning of the game.
I can't stress the importance of putting notes on players enough. Not only do they serve you in the game you are in, but should you meet them again in another game, the notes will certainly assist you.
I know I was quite lucky on a few occasions in this game and there were a few hands that I should never have called but the poor play or should that read "good play?" of other players can sway your thinking in certain situations.
All in all, poker is a very complex game when you get down to the nitty gritty but I still love it!

Non mi ero reso conto del significato di quella nota più avanti nel gioco.
Ho fatto il mio solito post e fold, ma devo dire che ho avuto un buon presentimento su questo gioco. Immagino di essere nel giusto stato d'animo. Comunque torniamo al gioco.
Avevo tasca da un lato dove ero il mazziere e ho deciso di non rilanciare. SB ha chiamato e BB ha fatto check. Il flop è arrivato e il BB ha semplicemente messo tutte le sue chips nel piatto così ho chiamato. L'SB ha foldato. Ha rivelato la sua mano che era . Fortunatamente i miei 7 hanno retto e lui è uscito e ho vinto il piatto. So che è stata una chiamata rischiosa: avrebbe potuto avere una scala.
Ho passato molte mani, ho giocato alcune mani e ho vinto alcune mani. Ero ancora tra i primi 10; infatti ero 6°.

Quindi ha avuto un'ottima mano pre-flop e, a causa del suo pessimo gioco nelle innumerevoli mani precedenti, ho dovuto chiamare dove normalmente avrei foldato. Ci sono molti spunti di riflessione qui. Siamo rimasti in 5 giocatori e questo ragazzo vuole davvero condividere la sua ricchezza con gli altri giocatori al tavolo facendo chiamate e puntate ridicole. Devo aggiungere che giocatori come questo rendono il gioco davvero interessante e un po' una battaglia che mi piace davvero.
Non entrerò nei dettagli di tutte le mani qui perché il gioco è andato avanti all'infinito. I restanti giocatori sembrano aver capito il gioco di questo ragazzo e stanno controrilanciando i suoi rilanci, chiamando i suoi rilanci e così via. Questo noto giocatore finalmente folda alcune mani.
Ora restano 3 giocatori e l'altro giocatore punta all-in per 10k e il giocatore notato lo chiama con . Le carte in tavola ci sono , il turno è e il fiume è quindi il giocatore notato è fortunato e ora siamo rimasti a 2 giocatori. Io e il noto giocatore.
Le chips vanno avanti e indietro tra di noi e sembra che ci diamo il turno per essere il chip leader.
Ad un certo punto l'ho fatto scendere a 4k e questo ragazzo ha avuto fortuna mano dopo mano dopo mano. Ecco alcune delle mani con cui ha vinto:

Da un lato avevo e sono andato all in sperando solo di rubare i bui ma lui ha chiamato. Egli ha mostrato ma ho preso un asso al turn e sono riuscito a raddoppiare.
Adesso ero il chip leader e mi sono ritrovato . I bui sono 1k/2k e io ho rilanciato a 10k pre flop. Lui ha puntato all-in per 22k ed io ho chiamato subito. Ha rivelato le sue carte che erano . Il flop è arrivato , è stato il turno e il fiume era . Avevo vinto la partita, $ 3,52 per la mia puntata di 25 centesimi e avevo battuto altri 44 giocatori.
Ma devo dire che la cosa migliore è che ho battuto quel ragazzo che ha chiamato all in proprio all'inizio del gioco.
Non potrò mai sottolineare abbastanza l'importanza di mettere delle note sui giocatori. Non solo ti servono nel gioco in cui ti trovi, ma se dovessi incontrarli di nuovo in un altro gioco, le note ti aiuteranno sicuramente.
So di essere stato abbastanza fortunato in alcune occasioni in questo gioco e ci sono state alcune mani che non avrei mai dovuto chiamare, ma il gioco scarso o dovrebbe essere letto "buon gioco?" di altri giocatori possono influenzare il tuo pensiero in determinate situazioni.
Tutto sommato, il poker è un gioco molto complesso quando si arriva al nocciolo della questione, ma lo adoro comunque!

$5 sitngo 6 seater on Full Tilt was my game choice this time. I fancied upping the stakes slightly to see how I did.
152 hands in this game so I won't be showing every hand or it will take me all day to write it.
Game started quite slow - no all ins on the first round which is unusual. It didn't take too long to find out that at least one player was a bit of a bluffer and he managed to call almost every hand. The problem was that he kept getting lucky with cards like and .
I'm posting and folding while all these bad hands are going on. This bluffer did get unlucky in one hand and lost most of his chips.
Next hand and I'm SB and I'm dealt and the bluffer who is Dealer bets all in so I called for 455 chips. Everyone else folded. His cards are revealed and he has The flop comes down , the turn is and the river is . He is out and we are down to 5 players.
There was a little bit of banter during the game and one UK player commented to an Australian player about how well the Aussies did in the Ashes (of course being sarcastic). He responded by saying he doesn't really follow it but he does like swimming. Now this Aussie player doesn't have too many chips and within a few seconds the UK player came back and said "You're drowning here". The Aussie player wasn't offended in any way and just came back with "Genius response". The Australian player was quite comical and this made it a really pleasant game.
Ok so back to the game. Loads of posting and folding and of course blind stealing. One player went all in and was called by the chip leader. The all in player shows and BB swiftly calls and shows . The flop came down , the turn was and the river was so one more player was out and we were down to 4.
The very next hand, I've folded and the Australian and the guy from the UK have both checked after the flop which was . The turn comes and it's and the Australian decides to go all in and his opponent promptly calls. Their hands are revealed and the Australian has and the opponent (UK guy) has . The river was and so the Australian was out and we were down to 3.
There is a Dutch player, the UK player and myself left and The Dutch player had 5300 chips, I have 2000 and the UK player has 1500 (rough figures).and 53 hands have passed.
Many hands later and I'm dealt . The chip leader raises (min raise to 200) so I re-reraised to 800. He flat called my raise. The flop comes down so I just bet all in and he called. His cards are revealed and he has . The turn was and the river was so I doubled up and was now the chip leader.
Many hands go by and it was basically posting and folding with a very small amount of blind stealing in between.
I'm dealer and fold and the two other players just call to the blind and check. The flop comes down . Both players check. The turn comes . Again they both check. The river comes on the table and its . The UK pulls his favourite trick and goes all in and the Dutch player quickly calls. The UK guy shows so he has a straight and the Dutch player shows so he has the flush and we are now down to two players.
109 hands have now passed, two players left and I'm definitely in the money.
We are both posting and folds - the cards are dire. I then hit so I raised 3 x BB to 480 and my opponent goes all in for $6k! So I decided to call. Hmm - wasn't sure if it was a right decision but if I can't call with that hand, what am I going to call with? Anyway, he shows . The flop comes down , the turn was and the river was so I'd (luckily) managed to double up. Any pair is a good hand when playing heads up and so is an Ace with a great kicker.
We are both posting and folding, stealing where possible and the chips remain pretty much the same. These last few hands, my opponent was stealing a lot of my BB and I decided it was time to fight back. So I'm BB and I have which isn't a great hand but heads up, it's certainly not a bad hand. The Dutch player raised min raise so I called. The flop came down so I bet 800 to see if I could throw him off the hand. He re-raised all in!
Now this was a predicament. I needed one card for a flush and I had a 5 to 1 chance of hitting it. I still would have sufficient chips to fight back if I lost so I decided (right or wrong) to call. His cards were shown and he had and . The turn was so now I had a flush draw and a straight draw giving me 17 outs. I now had a 3 to 1 chance of hitting either the flush or the straight. The river was so I hit my flush and won the game.
My prize was $19.50 and I have to say, it was a good game and I really did get lucky on that last hand. I guess sometimes you just have to take a risk.

Sto postando e foldando mentre si susseguono tutte queste brutte mani. Questo bluffatore è stato sfortunato in una mano e ha perso la maggior parte delle sue chips.
Alla mano successiva sono SB e mi viene servito e il bluffatore che è il dealer punta all-in, quindi ho chiamato per 455 chips. Tutti gli altri hanno foldato. Le sue carte vengono rivelate e lui l'ha fatto Arriva il flop , è il turno e il fiume è . Lui è fuori e siamo scesi a 5 giocatori.
Ci sono state alcune battute durante la partita e un giocatore britannico ha commentato con un giocatore australiano quanto bene si sono comportati gli australiani ad Ashes (ovviamente in modo sarcastico). Ok, torniamo al gioco. Un sacco di post e fold e ovviamente furti alla cieca. Un giocatore è andato all in ed è stato chiamato dal chip leader. Il tutto nel giocatore mostra e BB chiama e mostra velocemente . Il flop è arrivato , è stato il turno e il fiume era quindi un altro giocatore è uscito e siamo rimasti in 4.
Nella mano successiva, ho passato e l'australiano e il ragazzo dal Regno Unito hanno entrambi fatto check dopo il flop che era . Il turno arriva ed è così e l'australiano decide di andare all in e il suo avversario prontamente chiama. Le loro mani vengono rivelate e l'australiano ha e l'avversario (ragazzo del Regno Unito) lo ha fatto . Il fiume era e così l'australiano è uscito e siamo rimasti a 3.
Rimaniamo un giocatore olandese, io e il giocatore britannico e il giocatore olandese aveva 5300 fiches, io ne ho 2000 e il giocatore britannico ne ha 1500 (cifre approssimative) e sono passate 53 mani.
Molte mani dopo e ho finito . Il chip leader rilancia (rilancio minimo a 200) quindi ho contro-rilanciato a 800. Ha semplicemente chiamato il mio rilancio. Arriva il flop quindi ho semplicemente puntato all-in e lui ha chiamato. Le sue carte vengono rivelate e lui l'ha fatto . La svolta è stata e il fiume era così ho raddoppiato e ora ero il chip leader.
Passano molte mani e sostanzialmente si tratta di postare e passare con una quantità molto piccola di furti di buio nel mezzo.
Io sono il mazziere e passo mentre gli altri due giocatori chiamano i bui e fanno check. Arriva il flop . Entrambi i giocatori fanno check. Arriva il turno . Ancora una volta entrambi fanno check. Il fiume arriva sul tavolo ed è . Il Regno Unito fa la sua giocata preferita e va all in e l'olandese chiama subito. Il ragazzo del Regno Unito mostra quindi ha una scala e il giocatore olandese mostra quindi ha il colore e ora siamo rimasti a due giocatori.
Sono passate 109 mani, sono rimasti due giocatori e sono decisamente in the money.
Stiamo postando e foldando: le carte sono terribili. Poi ho colpito quindi ho rilanciato di 3 x BB a 480 e il mio avversario è andato all in per $6k! Quindi ho deciso di chiamare. Hmm, non ero sicuro che fosse la decisione giusta, ma se non posso chiamare con quella mano, con cosa vedrò? Comunque lo dimostra . Arriva il flop , è stato il turno e il fiume era quindi (per fortuna) sono riuscito a raddoppiare. Qualsiasi coppia è una buona mano quando si gioca heads-up, così come un asso con un ottimo kicker.
Stiamo postando e foldando, rubando dove possibile e le chips rimangono più o meno le stesse. In queste ultime mani, il mio avversario mi stava rubando molto del mio BB e ho deciso che era giunto il momento di reagire. Quindi sono BB e ho che non è una grande mano ma heads up non è certamente una brutta mano. Il giocatore olandese ha rilanciato il minimo quindi ho chiamato. Il flop è arrivato quindi ho puntato 800 per vedere se potevo buttarlo via dalla mano. Ha rilanciato all-in!
Questa era una situazione difficile. Avevo bisogno di una carta per un colore e avevo una possibilità di 5 a 1 di realizzarla. Avrei comunque abbastanza chips per reagire se avessi perso, quindi ho deciso (giusto o sbagliato) di chiamare. Le sue carte furono mostrate e lui l'aveva fatto E . La svolta è stata quindi ora avevo un progetto di colore e un progetto di scala che mi davano 17 outs. Adesso avevo una possibilità di 3 a 1 di ottenere il colore o la scala. Il fiume era quindi ho centrato il colore e ho vinto la partita.
Il mio premio era di $19,50 e devo dire che è stato un bel gioco e sono stato davvero fortunato nell'ultima mano. Immagino che a volte devi semplicemente correre un rischio.

Your playing style is very similar to mine. There is not much i would of done differently. The only hand i would of done differently is raised on was your K 10. That happens to be one of my fav hands.
You didn't get crazy on the pp 4's & 6's. Those small pp's can really kill ya that's for sure. It's a shame during the final 2 that he folded on your AJ.That had to be your best hand! Don't ya just hate when that happens? It's like they know!

It is very strange for me to see another player play other than the pro's on T.V. Your style of play is very different than mine. Obviously it works, played smart and it pays. I personally have an unorthodox style of play, so am not the ideal person to critique.
What I can say is please, please, put some sort of sound to go with your videos in the future. Does not matter if it is the game sound, commentary, or even music. I went frigging nuts trying to figure out what was wrong with my computer that i could not hear the sound. And it was a few minutes before it dawned on me that there maybe was not any sound to be heard.
Very cool you were able to create a video of you're poker play like that. Just make sure too many videos of you're poker play don't become available to the competition. ;)
To me finishing 1st place is all about status. Finishing in the money is winning and that's what is most important. Congrats on the win.

I've not yet worked out the sound thing orren. I struggled to even get the video. I'll work on the sound for sure. You're right about not too many videos of me playing. I did think about that and thanks for the reminder. I think the next one will be a written one. I really got to get me some special poker time and soon.

I know it sound all easy when i am typing it, but i would not be surprised to hear you've already spent well over six ours working out the video deal. I do not expect you to change it just because of my thoughts and ideas. Hell, if i took my own advise i would be a totally different person. LMAO.

A bit of an update on the "audio" front.
What a disaster that was. I set it up for the speakers and then the entire thing wouldn't work. So I tried it with the microphone - a little bit of a commentary. That didn't work and it seems I was talking to myself!
End result: NO sound at all, software wouldn't work.
I am going to try again - I'll report back.
