Tadej Pogacar pulled off a massive result today, the Slovenian grabbed the stage win at his first ever Grand Tour and his future in professional cycling looks extremely promising. Miguel Angel Lopez attempted an early attack but it all backfired as he also suffered a crash and ended up losing just over a minute. Nairo Quintana is the new leader of the general classification, but Primoz Roglic seems set to take that spot at the individual time trial stage on Tuesday.

Really impressed with  Pogacar so far, hopefully he could do well in today's time trial and make the race even more exiting, I'm expecting him to gain time on all the GS contenders except for Roglic of course but let see whether the boy could do that.

Sepp Kuss grabbed his first ever Grand Tour stage win, he was in the day's breakaway and somehow he held off the advance of the main bunch to get the glory at the line. In the general classification, Alejandro Valverde attacked on the final climb and Primoz Roglic was able to respond, the two arrived together and gained time on Quintana, Lopez and Pogacar.

Today's stage was blown apart by crosswinds, a group of 50 riders were alert and determined enough to take advantage and from that group Philippe Gilbert was the fastest at the finish. There were serious consequences in the general classification as well, race leader Primoz Roglic lost over 5 minutes to the front group and Nairo Quintana bounced up to second place. Wilco Kelderman and James Knox also moved up a few spots in the general classification.

I'm glad for Roglic, think he's been the most consistent cyclist in the Vuelta so fully deserved the victory.

And what about Pogachar!?! That guy has been amazing, I've been expected him to do well but what he did was beyond any expectations to be honest.

Hopefully UAE could build a strong enough team around him for the next year cause the guy could obviously could challenge even the top riders in the big tours.
