Hiya Members,
The postal service is considering delivering just 5 days a week. Due to the postal service suffering huge losses. Stamps are going up constantly....I'm never sure if the stamps I'm currently using is the right postage.
I think most of this is due to on line bill pay and emailing. It is just to convenient and way cheaper than what it would cost for a book of stamps.
How would you feel about a 5 day mail delivery.......or do you even use the post office anymore?

LIps that's why they brought out the "Forever" stamps. You buy them this month, 5 months later there's a rate hike? No probs, those stamps are good till used up!
Yes, I still do use the post office (or mail letters) as some employers still want you to take the trouble to mail them a resume. Hey, what ever it takes!!
I think this is long overdue, though the reason for this, is that they are having a hard time paying retirement and benefits to the retirees. Plus of course we use email quite a bit.
Did you know there IS a law which states you MUST us the US postal service first, instead of UPS, FedEX unless the Postal service cannot provide the same service?

Seems like they only deliver 5 days a week now. Sometimes only 4. No mail for a day or two and then the next day the box is full!

Allow me to rant a bit here! I go to the P.O. for my business often. I have lost count of the number of times I have gone there and the line is to the door. Two clerks working. Then suddenly one of the clerks will close up and go on "break." Do they replace the clerk? Nope. The long line is now at the mercy of the one clerk who works with the same degree of inspiration as my 7 year old cleaning her room. You know....if most of us did out jobs like that.....well.....we'd be sent packing. Please forgive the rant! Grrrrrrr!Lascialo andare a 5...o qualsiasi altra cosa.

I hear ya drpsyce. I used to have go to the PO often too and same thing happened to me. The airport PO here is open until midnight. I would purposely wait until 10:30 pm and it was still the same. And heaven help us if anyone was doing a passport!
Thankfully I don't have to do that any more.
medtransTi sento, drpsyce. Anch'io andavo spesso al PO e mi è successa la stessa cosa. Il PO dell'aeroporto qui è aperto fino a mezzanotte. Aspetterei di proposito fino alle 22:30 ed era sempre lo stesso. E che il cielo ci aiuti se qualcuno stava facendo il passaporto!
Per fortuna non devo farlo più.

I need to add that he did tell me his route of
more then 7 years here (same route) was being shortened to
add more mailmen... so what are they doing?

Counting out change..semi-slow. Figuring out where that fourth package the person is sending it to, though they are ALL going to the SAME address, incredibly slow.
I once sent a package to Canada (Ebay Sale) and the clerk took about 4 minutes to figure out the postal declarations card I was using, wasn't the right one.
Then another 4 minutes till I got them to get another clerk to confirm that it WAS the right one.
"No, this IS the international one, the blue one is for domestic"
"I'm sorry but you'll have to fill out the blue one to ship this package in the USA"
"This is going to Vancouver, British Columbia" Not Vancouver, Washington"
"I'll get another clerk to verify"

Conteggio del resto...semi-lento. Capire dove lo sta inviando il quarto pacco, anche se TUTTI stanno andando allo STESSO indirizzo, è incredibilmente lento.
Una volta ho spedito un pacco in Canada (vendita eBay) e l'impiegato ha impiegato circa 4 minuti per capire che la carta per le dichiarazioni postali che stavo usando non era quella giusta.
Poi altri 4 minuti finché non sono riuscito a convincerli a chiamare un altro impiegato per confermare che era quello giusto.
"No, questo è quello internazionale, quello blu è per quello nazionale"
"Mi dispiace ma dovrai compilare il campo blu per spedire questo pacco negli USA"
"Questo andrà a Vancouver, British Columbia" Non a Vancouver, Washington"
"Chiamerò un altro impiegato per verificare"
