On Friday August 22nd it was a life changing moment for a couple that won $2.9 million on Progressive Slot Lion’s Share at MGM Grand Las Vegas. It was also the end of an era and a historical moment for Lion’s Share Slot machine that will retire. 
There were 50 exclusive Progressive Lion’s Share machines custom made for MGM Las Vegas in the 1990s. Due to the lack of popularity the casino pulled all but one slot off the casino floor.
The lone slot began to gain popularity on Facebook and Wall Street Journal publishes an article about the last machine standing.
Walter Misco was encouraged by his wife Linda to play the machine after reading about it online. Taking her suggestion he decided to put $100 in the machine late Friday night and was shocked when he won the massive Jackpot.
What’s even more amazing is the MGM is reviewing regulations to see if the lucky couple can take the machine home! “We’re going to do our best to let them take the machine home with them, because they deserve it,” said Scott Sibella, MGM Grand’s chief operating officer.
Misco said the windfall won’t have much of an impact on their lifestyle but will on is children and grandchildren. In regards to Lion’s Share Slot……..” “I can’t wait to see this thing in our living room,” Misco said.

Sure it's pretty neat giving them the machine, and I guess there quite unlikely to sell it for a quick profit too with that windfall already secured... so it'll probably end up gathering dust in the 10th spare room of their new house
