What are you doing for Thanksgiving?
I take the kids to Thanksgiving Eve worship services on Wednesday night. Our church joins with two others for a combined service.
On Thanksgiving Day we watch the Macy's Day parade and then go to a shelter to assit in providing Thankgiving lunch for the homeless. Last year we helped feed over 400...so I am curious how many we'll have this year.
Then our nanny, who is Columbian, will fix us a Central American themed super for that evening.....just to be different. And she is a great cook!

Mercoledì sera porto i bambini al culto della vigilia del Ringraziamento. La nostra chiesa si unisce ad altre due per un servizio congiunto.
Il Giorno del Ringraziamento assistiamo alla parata del Macy's Day e poi andiamo in un rifugio per assistere nella fornitura del pranzo del Ringraziamento ai senzatetto. L'anno scorso abbiamo contribuito a sfamare più di 400 persone... quindi sono curioso di sapere quanti ne avremo quest'anno.
Poi la nostra tata, che è colombiana, ci preparerà un super a tema centroamericano per quella sera... tanto per essere diversi. Ed è un'ottima cuoca!

Every year i get a turkey as big as Texas! I plan on enjoying the day with family and friends.
I will make lots of pies and the stuffing! After we have dinner we all sit down and play poker! We have sort of started a tradition with this. We put on the Lite radio station that is all Christmas songs and at the start of playing we choose a song we think will come on. if your song comes on you automatically win the pot! We have had a blast doing this.

Farò tantissime crostate e il ripieno! Dopo cena ci sediamo tutti e giochiamo a poker! Abbiamo iniziato una sorta di tradizione con questo. Mettiamo la stazione radio Lite che contiene tutte le canzoni di Natale e all'inizio della riproduzione scegliamo una canzone che pensiamo verrà trasmessa. se parte la tua canzone vinci automaticamente il piatto! Ci siamo divertiti tantissimo a farlo.

I am so ready to eat that turkey dinner, cranberries, candied yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie...Woo yum!!! I am so gonna be a fat lady singing after all that food.
I really believe that Thanksgiving is a must celebrated...
Not only it is a time to gather with family and friends to give thanks for the many blessings but to thank and remember the farmers who have worked all through the year and that's where your food really comes from especially when you have little children...
Sono così pronto a mangiare quella cena a base di tacchino, mirtilli rossi, patate candite, ripieno, purè di patate, torta di zucca... Woo yum!!! Diventerò una signora grassa che canta dopo tutto quel cibo.
Credo davvero che il Ringraziamento sia un must celebrato...
Non solo è un momento per riunirsi con la famiglia e gli amici per ringraziare per le tante benedizioni, ma per ringraziare e ricordare i contadini che hanno lavorato tutto l'anno ed è da lì che proviene davvero il cibo, soprattutto quando si hanno bambini piccoli...
