A Newsbeat investigation shows some music artists are buying social networking statistics to move higher into the charts. They seem to be buying YouTube views, Twitter followers and Facebook likes.
Newsbeat has found that you can buy 10,000 YouTube views for as little as £30! It's obviously against the rules of all those social networks but who cares, I guess you could become a star with around 30.000 quid!

On one hand I think it's wrong to "buy" the likes to get noticed on the other hand, if it is a great talent, I wouldn't want to be denied the opportunity to enjoy their music.
I'm on the fence I guess.

It's not surprising. I would think if they're good enough musicians the popularity would come naturally.
