Do you think this is art, much like shaping a Bonsai tree?
Or do you feel this is manipulation for no reason?
Either way, I think some shapes crafted and grown are purely artistic.
Peter Cook and Becky Northey spend years guiding each tree's growth along predetermined routes with wires.

Art is subjective; there is no 'right or wrong'; personally, I really like it!
L'arte è soggettiva; Non c'é giusto o sbagliato'; personalmente mi piace davvero tanto!

I think what they have done is very clever. I wonder how much it has weakened the tree though.
Mi chiedo però quanto abbia indebolito l'albero.

It is beautiful but what inquiring minds want to know is how the heck do you do this so perfectly with the wires and how often do adjustments need to be made. If i knew i might just get in yard and start bending tree trunks into slot machines

I would call it art and I think it is incredibly cool. The trees look strong and healthy... what patience they must have to do this even with a fast growing tree...
