While most people celebrated New Year's Eve with parties and fireworks one pensioner in France spent the night alone in a locked supermarket.
The 73-year-old woman wasn't feeling very well while visiting the store for some last-minute shopping so she went to the toilet. It's unclear how much time she had spent there but fact is when she came out later she found the shop deserted and locked up.
French media report she set off the alarm repeatedly and spent the night wandering the aisles, but nobody came to her rescue.
A member of staff found her on Tuesday morning. She was alive but a bit tired. She had tried to get some sleep in supermarket's staff office. What's more interesting is that there is no suggestion yet that she might have helped herself to any new year treats from the shelves.
What would you have done in this situation? (I assume she didn't have a mobile phone with her).

I'd either have busted out a window and left or probably would have started stocking the shelves and checking for expired items.
I once spent the new year in Walmart, but it was open at the time so that wasn't such a big deal.O sarei scappato da una finestra e me ne sarei andato o probabilmente avrei iniziato a rifornire gli scaffali e a controllare gli articoli scaduti.

It's unbelievable to think that she was unable to access a phone. Is there no phone in the entire place? Weird. I would've had to break a window or something and call the police after. No way I would be happy to celebrate the new year wandering the aisles alone.
È incredibile pensare che non sia riuscita ad accedere a un telefono. Non c'è nessun telefono in tutto il posto? Strano. Avrei dovuto rompere una finestra o qualcosa del genere e poi chiamare la polizia. In nessun modo sarei felice di festeggiare il nuovo anno vagando per le navate da sola.

I would have hunted down that telephone - there must have been one somewhere in the building. I probably would have got drunk and smoked too many ciggies if it was me.
Avrei cercato quel telefono: doveva essercene uno da qualche parte nell'edificio. Probabilmente mi sarei ubriacato e avrei fumato troppe sigarette se fossi stato in me.
