Treat me kindly, my beloved friend, for no heart in all this world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick for although I should lick your hand between blows, your patience and understanding will quickly teach me the things you would have me learn. Speak to me often for your voice is the world’s sweetest music as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail. When its cold and wet, remember I am a domesticated animal no longer accustomed to the bitter elements. I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth. Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food that I may stay well to romp and play and do your bidding. To walk by your side and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life should your life be in danger. And, my friend, when I am very old and I no longer enjoy good health, hearing or sight, do not make heroic efforts to keep me going. I am not having any fun. I love how I can have a bad day and my dog will come over and lay on my lap while I bitch about my problems. He doesnt interupt or tell me I'm wrong, he just looks at me like I am telling him the most interesting thing ever.
Adoro come posso avere una brutta giornata e il mio cane si avvicina e si sdraia sulle mie ginocchia mentre mi lamento dei miei problemi. Non mi interrompe né mi dice che ho torto, mi guarda semplicemente come se gli stessi dicendo la cosa più interessante di sempre.

Yep, my dogs were the best "Bartenders" in the world, listened to me complain, licked my face when I cried and played with me often....

I have seen this before and thought it would be a nice thing to send someone if they had to put their beloved dog to sleep. If dogs could talk i am sure it's what they would say.
My bugsy is 15 now and he still has the spunk of a pup. I couldn't imagine putting him down or being the one who holds him while it happened. But i know it would be the comfort that he needs and would have to do it.
Hate to sound like the doom of gloom about it all but lately these worries have been on my mind given his age.
LipsL'ho già visto prima e ho pensato che sarebbe stato carino mandare qualcuno se avesse dovuto mettere a dormire il suo amato cane. Se i cani potessero parlare, sono sicuro che direbbero così.
Il mio bugsy adesso ha 15 anni e ha ancora lo sperma di un cucciolo. Non potevo immaginare di metterlo giù o di essere io a trattenerlo mentre succedeva. Ma so che sarebbe il conforto di cui ha bisogno e dovrei farlo.
Odio sembrare un disastro per tutto ciò, ma ultimamente queste preoccupazioni sono state nella mia mente data la sua età.
