Most casinos have went to coinless operations on their slot machines. This we are all aware of.
So then, you get to the end of your game credits, decide to go, and hit the cashout button for a ticket of a whopping .04 cents. You toss it aside, throw it in the trash or just leave it in the machine, as it is not even worth waiting in the lines to cash it in. After all it is only .04 cents right? After we lose good money in the machine, it seems silly to worry about our last few pennies. Do we have any idea how much the casino is making on people, thousands a day, who do just that? I've found cashout vouchers for even quarter or higher just left by the last player. I say why give that last bit to the casino, cash in that voucher, or give it to someone who will. I saw a lady once walking around and collecting these unwanted vouchers. I followed her to the cashier, ever so discreetly, and she had a huge pile of these things. The cashier ended up handing her over $20 in cash. Now I would never go collecting them, but my point is that these things do add up, and I dont want the casino to get anymore of our money than they already have.
