The guy who took the picture was unaware of the tornado until the lightening illuminated it.

@Markotic, that is incredible, there was so much thunder and lightening in my area last night for hours and hours, I just wish i had a video recorder on so i could take pictures from it.

@Blueday, I take it you live in the England then lol? I'm from the south west near bath and it was absolutely amazing, not for my dog though he was terrified! There was a crack of lightening above my house at one point and it sort of fizzled out into sparks afterwards, never seen anything like that in my life.

Those are great pics Blue. I love lightening strikes even though they can be scary.

Beautiful indeed! Those photos are great in black and white too but colour seems to add a bit of realism.

Wow thanks Markotik for the pics. I live in California and I've never heard of Glass Beach or Pheiffer Beach, but now that I have I'm going to try and make it a point to visit. I've been to Hawaii on numerous occasions and every time I go back the locals will tell you not to take any black sand and if you do it'll bring bad luck because its cursed or whatever! The only way to break the curse is to send the black sand back to Hawaii. 

Here's a few amazing picture of abandoned places in the world.

Some of those pics were incredible....particularly the tree that ate the kids bike.
