Ive just written this poem because today is the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough and at the time I watched the events unfold on the tv.
After Hillsborough 2014
I watched TV in the April of eighty nine
As many were taken before their time
I watched as fences crushed the crowd
And thought this is not what they deserve
Running around the park that day
Like drowning rats trying to escape
I thought on that day
Someone will pay
For this Hillsborough tragedy
And after so ,so many years
The truth will finally reach our ears
The lies the cover ups no more
The hate for those who bore no blame
Gutter press and some police
Should hang their heads in shame
I hope the whole truth will be seen
And justice will out in time
For the ninety six precious lives
Taken before their time.
Ho appena scritto questa poesia perché oggi è il 25° anniversario dell'Hillsborough e in quel momento ho visto lo svolgersi degli eventi in televisione.
Dopo Hillsborough 2014
Ho guardato la TV nell'aprile dell'ottantanove
Altrettanti sono stati presi prima del tempo
Ho visto le recinzioni schiacciare la folla
E ho pensato che questo non è ciò che meritano
Correre per il parco quel giorno
Come topi che annegano e cercano di scappare
Ho pensato quel giorno
Qualcuno pagherà
Per questa tragedia di Hillsborough
E dopo così, così tanti anni
La verità arriverà finalmente alle nostre orecchie
Le bugie non vengono più coperte
L'odio per coloro che non avevano alcuna colpa
Stampa di cronaca e un po' di polizia
Dovrebbero abbassare la testa per la vergogna
Spero che si vedrà tutta la verità
E la giustizia uscirà in tempo
Per le novantasei vite preziose
Preso prima del tempo.

I was a child when it happened but those awful images of trapped fans have stuck with me over the years. While I haven't closely followed the details of the formal investigation and/or inquiry, it's clear to me that the full story of what happened and who was responsible has yet to come out.È una poesia molto bella e toccante che commemora un tragico evento proprio lì
Ero un bambino quando è successo, ma quelle terribili immagini di fan intrappolati mi sono rimaste impresse nel corso degli anni. Anche se non ho seguito da vicino i dettagli dell'indagine formale e/o dell'inchiesta, mi è chiaro che la storia completa di ciò che è accaduto e di chi era responsabile deve ancora venire fuori. -

Very moving righton and sadly so true.
I remember that dreadful day and even now find it hard to watch when more details rear their ugly head and they show it on the news.Molto commovente e purtroppo così vero.
Ricordo quel giorno terribile e anche adesso faccio fatica a guardare quando ulteriori dettagli emergono e lo mostrano al telegiornale. -

righton ur poem moved me to tears coz it reminded me of other tragic events that have unfolded in the past,
i wasnt aware of this tradegy until i clicked onto ur post read ur poem which made me google about it to find out what happened

Indeed such a tragedy, but on a positive side I really hope Liverpool will win the title this year. It is sure up to them this year, and if they win all 4 remaining games.bellissima poesia, amico.
Davvero una vera tragedia, ma il lato positivo è che spero davvero che il Liverpool vinca il titolo quest'anno. Dipenderà sicuramente da loro quest'anno e se vinceranno tutte e 4 le partite rimanenti. -

Indeed, it would be absolutely fabulous for Liverpool to win the title 25 years after Hillsborough, an event that has left deep scars in the souls of their fans.

Davvero una vera tragedia, ma il lato positivo è che spero davvero che il Liverpool vinca il titolo quest'anno. Dipenderà sicuramente da loro quest'anno e se vinceranno tutte e 4 le partite rimanenti.
In effetti, sarebbe assolutamente favoloso per il Liverpool vincere il titolo 25 anni dopo Hillsborough, un evento che ha lasciato cicatrici profonde nell'anima dei suoi tifosi.
