The Seattle Seahawks kicked off the season with a solid performance and a 36-16 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.  Marshawn Lynch rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, while Russell Wilson threw a couple of touchdown passes. Aaron Rodgers threw for 189 yards and a touchdown for the Packers.

The Detroit Lions started their season with a solid success, 35-14 over the New York Giants on Monday night.  Matthew Stafford delivered two early touchdown passes to Calvin Johnson to set things up nicely for the Lions while he also ran for a touchdown. Stafford went 22 of 32 for 346 yards and Johnson had seven catches for 164 yards. Manning was 18 of 33 for 163 yards and a touchdown for the Giants.

The Baltimore Ravens got their first win of the season on Thursday, 26-6 over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Ravens got a couple of touchdown passes from Joe Flacco while Bernard Pierce gained 96 yards on 22 carries. Flacco went 21 for 29 for 166 yards and two TD passes and Justin Tucker kicked four field goals.

The Chicago Bears clinched their first win of the season, 28-20 at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Jay Cutler passed for three fourth-quarter touchdowns to give Chicago the win and spoil the 49ers' Levi's Stadium debut. The Philadelphia Eagles got their second win of the season on Monday night as they defeated the Indianapolis Colts 30-27. Nick Foles threw a tying touchdown pass with 3:25 to go, and then set up Cody Parkey for the winning 36-yard field goal. The Colts had led most of the game, they had a 27-20  lead late in the game but they were unable to hold off the Eagles' comeback.

The Atlanta Falcons recorded a landslide win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, it ended 56-14. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Devin Hester led the Falcons to one of the biggest wins in franchise history. Ryan threw for 286 yards and three touchdowns, Jones delivered nine passes for 161 yards and a couple of scores, and Hester set an NFL record with his 20th return for a TD. This was the third defeat out of three for Tampa Bay while the Falcons have 2 wins and a loss so far.

The Arizona Cardinals extended their unbeaten run to three games after recording a 23-14 win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Drew Stanton threw a couple of third-quarter touchdown passes to rookie John Brown to clinch it for the Cardinals. Tommy Kelly blocked a field goal for Arizona, who outscored San Francisco 17-0 in the second half. Stanton completed 18 of 33 passes for 244 yards and two scores while Michael Floyd caught five for 114 yards. For the 49ers Colin Kaepernick completed 29 of 37 throws for 245 yards and a touchdown and ran for another 54.

The Dallas Cowboys grabbed their third consecutive win, 38-17 over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.  Tony Romo threw three touchdowns passes, two of them  to Terrance Williams, and DeMarco Murray ran for a couple of scores in another 100-yard game. The Cowboys managed to keep Drew Brees and the Saints scoreless in the first half. The Cowboys are now tied with Philadelphia for the NFC East lead.

Jamaal Charles returned from an ankle injury to score three touchdowns, while New England's Tom Brady was picked off twice. Charles ran for 92 yards and a score and also caught two short touchdown passes from Alex Smith, who had 248 yards passing and three touchdowns.

The San Diego Chargers extended their winning streak to four games with a commanding 31-0 success over the New York Jets on Sunday.  Philip Rivers threw two touchdown passes to Antonio Gates and rookie running back Branden Oliver delivered his first two NFL touchdown. This was the fourth consecutive defeat for the Jets. Rivers was 20 of 28 for 288 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception. The last shutout victory for the Chargers was 31-0 against Kansas City on Dec. 12, 2010. The Jets were blanked for the first time since losing 34-0 against San Francisco on Sept. 30, 2012.

The Seattle Seahawks grabbed their second consecutive win, 27-17 at the Washington Redskins on Monday night.  Russell Wilson rushed for a career-high 122 yards and a touchdown while the Seahawks overcame more than a dozen penalties. Wilson completed 18 of 24 passes for 201 yards and two more scores for the Seahawks. Seattle is now recording an NFL-best 21-8 on Monday nights, including nine consecutive wins.

The Indianapolis Colts extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a 33-28 success at the Houston Texans on Thursday.  Andrew Luck had a great first quarter and did enough until the end of the game to hold on for a win. The Colts had an impressive 24-0 lead after one quarter, but allowed Houston back in at 33-28 early in the fourth quarter. Luck finished with 370 yards passing and a three touchdowns and T.Y. Hilton had a career-high 223 yards receiving with a touchdown.

The San Diego Chargers grabbed their fifth consecutive win, 31-28 at the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.  Branden Oliver scored on a 1-yard run with 1:56 to play and decided the game. Philip Rivers threw three touchdown passes and also created the winning drive to hand Oakland its 11th straight loss. Rookie Derek Carr threw four touchdown passes for the Raiders and gave them a 28-21 lead with 10:01 to play. But Rivers replied with a pair of scoring drives and Carr then was intercepted by rookie Jason Verrett with 1:13 to play to seal the victory.

The Pittsburgh Steelers got back to winning ways with a 30-23 success over the Houston Texans on Monday night. Ben Roethlisberger passed for two touchdowns. Pittsburgh needed just over a minute to turn a 10-point deficit into an 11-point lead as the Texans made several mistakes in their third consecutive defeat. Arian Foster ran for 102 yards for Houston, but just 29 over the final three quarters.
