With all the goings on in USA over the decision as to whether poker is a skill or not, I thought it would be a good time to ask you the question.
You've probably seen the online poker players making it to the WSOP and other great international tournaments and sometimes getting lucky but do you honestly think poker is a skill?
I'd love to hear your comments. I do have my own views but I would love to hear yours first.

Yes I think it is a skill blue.Luck does enter into it but luck can only take you so far.

Well blue that is an interesting question...
You can play poker with absolutely no skill and do well at times, but in the long run you will lose. The luck involved will carry you just so far and then you better have some skill or you are lost.
The people who win have a great deal of skill and have studied the game and people long and diligently. They have gone beyond the mechanics of the game. Even children can learn the basics. But, to be good takes time and effort and the ability to learn. And it requires much practice to sharpen those skills.
I have been labeled a "skilled" slot player, which I consider ludicrous... but I would love to be considered a "skilled" poker player some day!
Can't wait to hear what you think about this subject!

Puoi giocare a poker senza alcuna abilità e a volte fare bene, ma alla lunga perderai. La fortuna in questione ti porterà lontano e allora sarà meglio che tu abbia qualche abilità o ti perderai.
Le persone che vincono hanno una grande abilità e hanno studiato a lungo e diligentemente il gioco e le persone. Sono andati oltre i meccanismi del gioco. Anche i bambini possono imparare le basi. Ma per essere bravi ci vuole tempo, impegno e capacità di imparare. E richiede molta pratica per affinare quelle abilità.
Sono stato etichettato come un giocatore di slot "abile", cosa che considero ridicola... ma mi piacerebbe essere considerato un giocatore di poker "abile" un giorno!
Non vedo l'ora di sapere cosa ne pensi di questo argomento!

It has to be a skill in my opinion. The same players would not be winning the huge bucks at WSOP or other large tourneys if it wasn't a skill. That said, a lot of new players play some dire hands and win but they don't stay in a game too long as their luck always runs out. So there is an element of luck in it...to begin with. It's always a matter of time with these "luckers"; it's just unfortunate if they get lucky on your pocket aces and bust you out of the game.

Deve essere un'abilità secondo me. Gli stessi giocatori non vincerebbero cifre enormi alle WSOP o ad altri grandi tornei se non fosse un'abilità. Detto questo, molti nuovi giocatori giocano mani terribili e vincono, ma non rimangono in gioco troppo a lungo perché la loro fortuna finisce sempre. Quindi c'è un elemento di fortuna in questo... tanto per cominciare. Con questi "fortunati" è sempre questione di tempo; è semplicemente un peccato se hanno fortuna con la tua coppia d'assi e ti eliminano dal gioco.
