diese Woche habe ich mir ein neues Spiel angesehen: Empress of the Jade Sword von Microgaming. Das Spiel wollte ich mir schon seit einigen Wochen zur Brust nehmen, weil ich asiatisch thematisierte Spiele eigentlich sehr mag, aber so richtig überzeugen konnte es mich nicht.
Habt ihr den Titel schon gespielt und wie ist eure Meinung dazu? Meiner Ansicht nach ist Empress of the Jade Sword ein solides Spiel, es fehlt aber das gewisse etwas.
Als ich mich mit dem Thema auseinandergesetzt habe, ist mir aufgefallen, wie stark dort China, Japan und ganz Asien einfach in einen Topf geworfen wurde. Das erinnerte mich an ein Spiel, in dem die neuseeländischen Ureinwohner (Maori) mitsamt einigen Heiligtümern in einem Slot verarbeitet wurden. Der Volksstamm hat sich dagegen beim Hersteller Endorphina beschwert und letztlich bewirkt, dass das Spiel zurückgezogen wurde.
Was denkt ihr über die Darstellung von bestimmten Bevölkerungsgruppen in Spielautomaten? Alles nur Spaß und egal, oder wüscht ihr euch einen authentischen und respektvollen Umgang damit?

Questa settimana ho provato un nuovo gioco: Empress of the Jade Sword di Microgaming. Era da qualche settimana che volevo prendere in mano il gioco perché in realtà mi piacciono molto i giochi a tema asiatico, ma non mi convinceva molto.
Avete già giocato al titolo e cosa ne pensate? Secondo me, Empress of the Jade Sword è un gioco solido, ma manca qualcosa.
Quando ho approfondito l’argomento, ho notato quanto la Cina, il Giappone e tutta l’Asia fossero semplicemente messi insieme. Questo mi ha ricordato un gioco in cui i nativi della Nuova Zelanda (Maori) e alcuni santuari erano incorporati in una slot. La tribù si è lamentata con il produttore Endorphina e alla fine ha causato il ritiro del gioco .
Cosa ne pensi della rappresentazione di determinati gruppi demografici nelle slot machine? È tutto solo divertente e non ha importanza, o vuoi che venga affrontato in modo autentico e rispettoso?

This week I checked out a new game: Empress of the Jade Sword from Microgaming. I've been wanting to pick up the game for a few weeks because I actually really like Asian-themed games, but it didn't really convince me.
Have you already played the title and what do you think about it? In my opinion, Empress of the Jade Sword is a solid game, but it's missing a certain something.
