I just caught the news and saw Prince Charles and Carmilla under attack.The students are protesting the rise in tuition fees for college.I'm not sure what to think about it. :-\

I think the attack on the Royals was very wrong but I agree with the protest against the tuition fees. The Government won a lot of votes from students when they promised not to put the fees up....a few weeks after the new Govt. were "installed", they put the fees up drastically which means that the poorer families won't be able to go to university or if they do, they will have a huge debt which they will never be able to repay but will of course be paying it, for all of their lives.
Fake promises to win votes is disgraceful and the coalition party (Lib Dem) are very embarrassed about it.

It is really a shame how some countries gouge students or should i say parents for tuition that is almost impossible to pay or payback.
Yet there are other countries where student can go for practically nothing. Again it all boils down to the same thing........the gov getting a piece of the pie. Most loans are paid back to the gov....that right there paints the picture...at least in the US.
LipsÈ davvero un peccato come alcuni paesi sottraggano agli studenti o dovrei dire ai genitori tasse scolastiche che è quasi impossibile pagare o rimborsare.
Eppure ci sono altri paesi in cui gli studenti possono andare praticamente gratis. Ancora una volta tutto si riduce alla stessa cosa...il governo prende una fetta della torta. La maggior parte dei prestiti vengono restituiti al governo... che dipinge il quadro... almeno negli Stati Uniti.

Indeed - I guess it's the same all over.
I have to say, it's not often this country finds it's voice but on this occasion, we certainly have. The students are protesting all around the country wherever there is a university, which I agree with but there is no need for violence. Some of it is fueled by the coppers. Even youngsters aged 12 are protesting - it's their future too. The thing is that in Scotland they still don't have to pay tuition fees for university so I can see there will be a mass exodus to all the Scottish Universities.

Gli studenti protestano in tutto il Paese, ovunque ci sia un'università, cosa che condivido, ma non c'è bisogno di violenza. Una parte è alimentata dai poliziotti. Anche i ragazzi di 12 anni protestano: è in gioco anche il loro futuro. Il fatto è che in Scozia non devono ancora pagare le tasse universitarie, quindi prevedo che ci sarà un esodo di massa verso tutte le università scozzesi.

Why should the government (US, England, etc.) pick up the bill for college education???? These students have "entitlement mentality" big time.
Perché il governo (Stati Uniti, Inghilterra, ecc.) dovrebbe farsi carico del conto per l'istruzione universitaria???? Questi studenti hanno una grande "mentalità del diritto".
