Well, the Xmas tree is up...so, this means another year for my cat to climb it, claw it, pick all the decorations off it.
Any tips on how to get it to stop?
I've tried water bottles, vinegar bottles, yelling and clips in the noggin (not hard, PETA)...and it looks at me, goes back to whats its doing, or skidders off, and giggling if it could, til it skulks back in 5.
What do you guys do?

Honestly, I always have a funny looking tree because I don't hang ornaments down low enough for the cat to get them.
Onestamente, ho sempre un albero dall'aspetto strano perché non appendo gli ornamenti abbastanza in basso da permettere al gatto di prenderli.

BTW if you want to teach it a nifty trick, take cat to door, take arm of it and tap knob and then put it outside. Inside of 3 weeks this is how it'll tell you it wants out. Yes, I did it and my Mother thought that was pretty smart. He later moved in with sister and TAUGHT another cat this!! I hang ornaments for the cats at the bottom of the tree - they're not the prettiest but the cats can play with them. I use the same ones every year so they know those are theirs.
Appendo gli ornamenti per i gatti ai piedi dell'albero: non sono i più belli ma i gatti possono giocarci. Uso gli stessi ogni anno in modo che sappiano che sono loro.

Im in the same boat as you 13oclock. I have three cats, and even though they are older, there is something about a Christmas Tree that they can't help themselves.
I have, well I had, the cutest little village set up with all the little people and such. Cotton batting for snow looking ground, they whole works. Then one of my cats decided it was just all to pretty. She went in, sat right in the middle of town square, knocked over all the people, ripped up the cotton batting, and left the town in shambles. After she left, it looked like a hurricane had went thru. All the little people on thier sides needing medical attention. HA There were three casulties, as they feel off the table I had it on and broke off some of their body parts.
I have yet to set it up again.

Poi uno dei miei gatti ha deciso che era troppo carino. Entrò, si sedette proprio al centro della piazza della città, travolse tutta la gente, strappò l'ovatta e lasciò la città in rovina. Dopo che se ne fu andata, sembrava che fosse passato un uragano. Tutte le piccole persone dalla loro parte hanno bisogno di cure mediche. HA Ci sono state tre vittime, quando si sono alzate dal lettino l'ho indossato e ho rotto alcune parti del loro corpo.
Devo ancora configurarlo di nuovo.
