If your gonna steal lottery tickets don't go back to the store where you stole them to cash in the winners.
A Winter Haven Fl. man was arrested after authorities said he took a winning scratch-off ticket back to the store he had stolen it from a day earlier. The Polk County Sheriff's Office reported that a 22-year-old man stole $70 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets from a Circle K store on Sunday. One of the tickets revealed a $50 prize.
When the man went back to the store on Monday to claim the money, a clerk who was aware of the theft asked the man for his driver's license and wrote down the information. The clerk called the authorities, and deputies went to arrest the man.
He was charged with retail theft and later released on $250 bail.

Reminds me when WA state had a promotion for losing tickets. I would hit the "Stop and go" shops and root in the dumpsters for losing tickets (Yes, used gloves...Eewwwww)
Imagine my surprise, when I started finding losing tickets as well as winning tickets. At first, I thought "Well, they may be rich enough to throw away $1-$3 bucks, but I'm not"
So, I'd cash them in also. I finally realized years later, that at the beginning, the stores had to stamp each one and didn't have the bar codes to know if the ticket had been already paid.
So I had recashed a few hundred during the promotion!! Oh, I won $100 on the next to last draw they held. Aftrer 14 WEEKS of dumpster diving, that's the best result...:PMi ricorda quando lo stato di WA aveva una promozione per perdere i biglietti.
